Shirley Sherrod: “Fox News and Tea Parties Scaring Obama Administration”

by the Left Coast Rebel

There’s almost too much to chase in the news cycle today but just moments ago I caught some more information on the Shirley Sherrod controversy on Fox’s “America Live” with Megyn Kelly. Megyn Kelly was speaking to Fox reporter James Rosen about the Shirley Sherrod video that went viral yesterday.

Shirley Sherrod is claiming that the viral video was taken out of context and that she is a victim of a sort-of right wing conspiracy. She’s claiming she felt ‘harassed’ by the Deputy Undersecretary of Agriculture that allegedly called Shirley Sherrod three times yesterday demanding that she resign. She says that her superior claimed that she should resign because, “she was going to be on Glenn Beck tonight.” Shirley Sherrod is also claiming that the White House was behind the call for her prompt firing and that the NAACP and White House are ‘throwing her under the bus.’

But the most interesting quote from Shirley Sherrod (in my humble opinion) was this:

Fox News and the Tea Parties are scaring the Obama administration.”
By Fox, she clearly emphasized Glenn Beck per her superior. And by the reference to Tea parties – I stand proud and accept the honor. We are doing the Lord’s work, saving the nation from a neo-Bolshevik regime and per today’s Journolist revelation – doing the work that the press simply won’t.

The sunlight of truth is ‘scary,’ no?

Megyn Kelly will be speaking with Sherryl Sherrod in mere moments and I will upload the video when I find it.

Cross posted to Rational Nation, Left Coast Rebel.

Updated
: Confirmation of Megyn Kelly’s show this morning via CNN.

Other notable-quotables from Shirley Sherrod above:

They asked me to resign, the harassed me

You are going to be on Glenn Beck tonight

The NAACP are the reason why this happened, they got into a fight with the Tea Parties….that hurts

Updated x2: Fox’s Megyn Kelly just reported (11:35 PST) that Shirley Sherrod will not appear on Kelly’s show, after all.

She declined after she had accepted
, is what Megyn Kelly said.

That’s a nice way of saying it.

Updated x2: Fellow SLOB Dean writes:

At this point, I don’t feel comfortable with this. The video I saw cut off at what possibly may have been the “but…” moment. As if her narrative went from an act of bigotry to the realization that what she was doing was wrong. Except, if the realization part did indeed happen, we didn’t see it.

If Breitbart edited the video in any way so that we did not get the full context then that is despicable as, for all we know, a dedicated civil servant was terminated.

If I am mistaken then so be it. This one, however, doesn’t pass my gut check and is why I ran, instead, with goofy Brown Beret mama at the Angels game for my daily lefty racism/bigotry post.
On-cue with Dean, I think something is fishy here. Glenn Beck speaks to this:

Update x3: Was the President of the NAACP there? Gateway Pundit notices a bizarre little tidbit in the video:
If you listen to the Sherrod’s speech at Annual NAACP Freedom Fund Dinner in Georgia in March you’ll here her thank her guests and…
“The President who is with us tonight.”
(0:45 seconds into the speech)

Well the president (whether it was Ben Jealous or someone else) at the annual Georgia event certainly didn’t get up and lecture the audience about their disturbing reaction to the speech, did he?

After the truth and understand of the effects of what she said become real, that she has the audacity to say Fox News (or specifically meaning Glen Beck… or not, whatever) and the Tea Party are scaring the Administration? Who cares about the administration!

What I want to know is, the last time I dealt with a black person (or really, liberal, woman, or many of the other minorities or wacko white man haters) who was working in an official capacity, you know the one that made me quite uncomfortable, the one who did not want me in their presences… Did they throw ME under the racist bus? And, yes, it happens all the time.

I seriously wonder about a couple of my "docs" at the V.A., mostly based on politics or sex. Yes, I think even my health care may have been compromised in these ways. I HOPE the administration is scared.

What a tearful contrast from this video and the one in question… humility and pride?
The question that still troubles me is, how did the white farmer display superiority? Is it not possible that the farmer did not want help but was in a difficult position. If he is like me, a hard working man, he wouldn't be comfortable asking for help. I would have to swallow some pride to do that. And I would not want the full force of what she could do, but just enough to meet my needs…
I have found myself having to deal with black people in govt positions that showed a bias.
