This from our 40th president –
~ Government’s view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidise it ~
Probably my favorite of all of Reagan’s quotes, succint and brilliant in simplicity and so applicable to today’s governmental dysfunction. I might change his wording just a bit and say that in today’s Obamanation instead of subsidization we have opted for ‘bailouts’. Lest we forget as well that this dysfunction was started under Bush and company – our so – called republican team that abandoned Reagan’s ‘Shining City Upon a Hill’ ethos. America needs Reagan, a leader that believed in the sanctity of the individual and American exceptionalism.
