Remember the idiom above?
Well it seems that our president, the Obamanation; the man and philosophy the he represents are the envy of a particular leader that I’ve written about before.Who is this man? I’ll give you a few hints.
- Useful idiot Jimmy Carter oversaw and validated his re-election.
- Much like many American intellectuals today, his collegial studies involved the works of Marx, Vladimir Lenin, and Trotsky.
- Along with other Leftist dictators, praises ‘democracy’, often dons military fatigues and blends militant communism with militant militarism, loves the color red.
- Blames the world’s problems on the West and America.
- Elected on promises of redistributing wealth to the poor, free education, subsidized housing and free medical care.
Mystery speaker – “Hey, Obama has just nationalized nothing more and nothing less than General Motors. Comrade Obama! Fidel, careful or we are going to end up to his right.”
The above quote taken earlier this week, President Hugo Chavez, straight from the horse’s mouth, proving the ageless idiom, you really can judge a man by the company that he keeps.
Story from Reuters here.
Update : Reader William this evening had this great input to offer, motivated to speak out after reading this story –
“I’m not old enough to have taken part of the sixties “youth rebellion,” but I saw it every night on the news and read about it in the papers. One of the things we need (among many) to get back on track as a nation of liberty again, is for college age kids to act like their parents and grand parents did back “in the day.” Conservatives and libertarians have been far too polite in the battle of ideas. What we need is some good ol’ fashioned rebellion! After all, our founders were rebels.
Youngsters need to vilify their commie professors. The need to make leftist students look square, unhip… make them look like the mouth breathing dolts they are. Get potential converts to see what Chavez and Castro have done to oppress lives. Yes, by all means, throw eggs and balloons at left-wing speakers. Shout them down. Hell, most conservative kids are in better shape than the leftist student body that sits on their ass all day long, taking hits from bongs, so they needn’t be afraid of potential violence from them. Form demonstrations. Set up booths showing the evils of collectivism. Put out booklets with pictures of showing the tyranny of the left. Write articles for right-wing campus papers about the horrors of Mao’s revolution and how he starved seventy million people to death. Show pics of what hospitals really look like in Cuba. Nothing says more than a heap of bodies piled up, demonstrating the handiwork of Stalin. Use sound bytes from Jonah Goldberg’s “Liberal Fascism,” to show that there isn’t much difference between fascism and communism; socialism being the common link. Carry posters at demonstrations with bite size chunks of basic economics.Time to get moving and at least attempt to restructure the damage the left has done, primarily through the education system.”
I completely agree William, I will do my best here to further these ideas and radicalize the fight for liberty!

So True!
Fuzzy – can you believe this? Twilight Zone…
That's just freaky. It shows what other countries night be thinking about us too.
Part of the world is laughing at our stupidity at electing this buffoon as president and the rest is shaking its head in disbelief.
Ananda – I agree
Cube – Good point, the only ones cheering are the communists, totalitarians, etc. I shake my head in disbelief with the world….

This means a lot coming from Chavez. But it's not just him. Russia, not exactly a haven of the free market, has gone to lecturing the United States about capitalism. Talk about your bizarro world!
Carl – Indeed, I never would have believed it even a year ago…what a pathetic joke this is
LCR, I'll tell you what's more pathetic: Chavez last year calling W. "Comrade Bush" after the bailouts began. Pathetic because it was true. Calling the Democrats socialists, fascists, or communists doesn't take too much courage. It's like calling the sky blue. But when the so-called party of free enterprise, the GOP, kicks off the nationalization race, something truly twisted has happened.
And here's the speech from Putin at the Davos conference. He's not exactly a born-again Austrian economist, but I think Putin just might understand more about our crisis than The Chosen One: http://online.wsj.com/article/SB123317069332125243.html?mod=googlenews_wsj
Carl – Exactly, and that is why we are in this mess. The elecion of the Obamanation can be laid at the feet of the pathetic GOP and Bush in particular. They abandoned free-market principles and deserved to lose with a vengeance. I was not aware of Chavez's comrade Bush comments, it doesn't surprise me though. I'll read your Putin post and get back to you.
Carl – God, you have turned me onto a shocking fact- Putin of Russia is more capitalistic than our pathetic leadership today – "Excessive intervention in economic activity and blind faith in the state's omnipotence is another possible mistake.True, the state's increased role in times of crisis is a natural reaction to market setbacks. Instead of streamlining market mechanisms, some are tempted to expand state economic intervention to the greatest possible extent. The concentration of surplus assets in the hands of the state is a negative aspect of anti-crisis measures in virtually every nation."
Putin of Russia this year, that is all.
William – Well said sir, in fact that is one of the best statments that I have read here on the LCR, if you don't mind, I think that I'll post it as an update to the piece. Well said again and thank you for reading!
Remember how the left and media said anything associating BO with the radicalism of those he associated with was racists and wrong. Common sense said that birds of a feather flock together. I did a blog about how you can determine a man's charater by the heros he keeps. What were BO's, Marx, Lenin, Chavez, Castro, Ayers need I say more. Add the Islamic terrorists and you see a very bleak picture and people are surprised by the path this man has taken. I remember those that wanted free university education. I stated, after seeing what they've done to the K-12, having free secondary education will make Bachlors, Masters, and Ph'd's in this country more worthless than the paper it's written on. Not to mention the currency and where it's heading. Yea, you sure can judge a man by the company he keeps. Too bad too many Americans were to stupid, racist, or naive on Election Day to prevent this man made disaster upon us. Even in Pravda (there's s source I never expected to quote in my lifetime) have Russians bailing out of the US because they know what's coming. If that doesn't drive the point, what will?
madmath – great points, as I put out in today's post about the czars in the Obamanation government, Putin of Russian sounds more apt at supporting freedom and free markets than our own 'president'….
