So you could say that I am bouncing off the walls today – too many pressing topics to cover, finishing a proposal for business, (whoopee some real work!). First on the hitlist though is a personal story. Smitty over at The Other McCain ran me today as the “Best new blog of the day.”
I must confess that I admire Stacy McCain’s drive, wit, intellect and his site. I admire what he has created and think that he has a superb writing skill. He is armed with years of reporting experience at the Washington Times, grassroots activism and has a keen intellect on conservative/liberty-minded topics. He is currently in D.C. I believe, working on the Inspector General flap. On these notes, you may now dispense with the unpleasantries – that my excitement may seem to be of pubescent cliquishness. Perhaps, but I’ve been working hard here for months!
I must also confess to being a little guilty of committing Stacy McCain’s Rule #1 – Shameless Blogwhoring in that I have pestered him a few times to either a). read some of my stuff, or b). link me if he felt it to be worthy. I even engaged in a little squabble here with him over a Marie Osmond lesbian story last month.
The gist of said squabble, (mind you it was good-natured)? I don’t follow Rule # 5 – Christina Hendricks. I will never put up pictures of pretty girls, tabloid stuff, or sex, (not that I don’t mind any of those things), it’s just not my style and what I am here for. But I do not blame other conservative bloggers for going there, I know that it can drive traffic and I’m not chastising him for doing so occasionally – it’s his style and he has one of the best sites on the net. So anyway I’ll close by saying thanks to my readers and thanks to Smitty and Stacy McCain over at The Other McCain.
Now let’s all work together to stop this scourge of socialism, nannyism, big-brotherism, moral relativism, statism, Keynsian economicism, socialized medicine masquaraded as competitionism, cap-and-tax-the-air-we-breatheism, collectivism, communism, unconstitutionalisms….. have I forgotten anything?

That was nice of Smitty to do that. I've never blogwhored, although stacy is a friend in Facebook… May be I need to write more… Anyway, congrats on the endorsement. You did leave out one word: Collectivism, but the other stuff encompass it.
RightGuy – Collectivism is going in….think of any more isms, let me know
Your blog is worthy of the distinction.
Bill – Man, I really appreciate the kind words, I love your blog too, you are one of the first guys that I found out here in this wilderness – keep on keeping on! Pray for my blood pressure, I'm listening to Levin right now….
Levin raises your blood pressure? What about Alan Colmes?
Maybe after reading the comments on the other blog maybe another ism is by – stopping mormonism bashing would be nice 🙂
That was an interesting back and forth, but I do believe it is time to work together and stay on track at the hard work ahead. I quit hollywood a long time ago. I just can't take much seriously over there. But it doesn't bother me if someone else finds it interesting. I just don't. I like that you have boundaries. Thanks.
You deserve the recognition. Keep going…. more please!
Right Guy – Levin is raising my blood pressure just like Savage does, by getting angry as hell, pointing out the Leftist blitzkrieg that the Dems are trying to pull off with no debate. Check my ABC piece. That kind of stuff. Huge, nation-changing things like cap and tax and health care, that's why the blood pressure goes up – informed anger. Colmes is a non-issue to me.
Jan – Mormon bashing at The Other McCain? Thanks for reading
Ananda Girl – I will, thanks so much!
Congratulations; more readership of thoughtful dissent to the liberal steamroller is always good. I hear you on the "real work" thing too; I'd love to be adding more informed dissent myself (the California legislature seems ripe for ridicule as always, but New York is apparently stepping up to challenge our perennial leadership in the "most ridiculous incompetent morons in the legislature" category, for example), but I've been traveling for business, and busy.
I kinda feel a little more famous just by admittedly very tenuous association. 🙂
Nick – Thank you, you are dodging the steamroller as well as I, the more the merrier. By God, NY is just as bad as the banana republic governance that we suffer under here…although CA may have them beat a bit on the 'teetering on bankruptcy' front. Very tenuous association indeed, I welcome all into the fold of resistance 🙂
Congrats on the honor. Left Coast Rebel deserves it. I've read The Other McCain on takimag.com, he's pretty clever.
Carl – Thanks! I am honored to have you as a reader – a real independent conservative with basic Goldwater roots, not many of those left today! Keep me in line if I stray brother! Stacy McCain is very clever, he's also a very astute conservative….I agree with most of his stuff….
Well done, Tim! Let it be known that your blog has become one of my favorites, if not favorite. What I enjoy so much is that LCR is not the exlusive domain of libertarians, nor conservatives; but is open to all people opposed to the collectivist left that has permeated our great, center right nation.
Hopefully, any comments I make here, will be coherent, and with any imagination I may muster, give someone, anyone, pause to reflect.
William – Thanks man! I appreciate your readership, your WWII post (comment), was one of the best, I wish that Beck had read it on his show. BTW, you are right! Everyone is welcome here, ideological purity is not necessary, just a desire to purge our beautiful freedom-loving country of the cancer of statism, progressivism, socialism. The essence of all that crushes the individual spirit. Maybe my youthful obsession with Ayn Rand is at play here…….
You forgot what all the things you listed are in one common term: COMMUNISM!
Tim, nothing wrong with youthful obsession of Ayn Rand. I will be fifty-five in two months, and the veins in my arms stick out like the roots of an oak tree, when I read her work.
Ever have those days when your life is filled with clarity, your body AND mind is free of restriction, nothing can get in your way; you are as it is often said, "in the zone?" That is how I feel when I hear Gary Cooper (Howard Roark) deliver his speech in the court room, at the end of "The Fountainhead." And I have read the book and seen the movie many times.
Andrew – yes, haha, they hoodwinked even me Andrew…
William – I know just what you mean! Some days I feel that way blogging, like I really have a voice and pen to put forth my thoughts…..I feel the same about Howard Roark's speech. The clarion call for the individual over the masses…..
