This story makes me grumpy. It’s not that I am a day late and a buck short on this one folks, it’s just that I am privy to an angle on the pathetic news yesterday that the “cash for clunkers” bill passed the House of Representatives. Doubtless an obamanation, a total waste of tax dollars printed out of thin air, a program sure to be wrought with corruption, mishandling, waste, fraud and abuse. These things are known. The worse thing though and cause for my upset? 119 votes of dissent on this clunker, meaning that 59 GOP members voted for it. More unadulterated fiscal child abuse and the GOP can’t even muster up the courage to stand against it, how can they be expected to beat the Obamanation?
Remember my piece here about this bill? Chuck Schumer (pictured, right), Democrat Senator of New York, on the program that gives out $4500 vouchers, April 15 – “This is an even better trade-in offer than they could get from any car dealership.” Well said. Fiscal taxpayer abuse.

My finance brother called me yesterday and told me that he was going to contact all of his friends on Facebook that own clunkers and offer to buy them out for $500 dollars and make out like a bandit. Of course this being a joke, truth is stranger than fiction. Kidding aside – don’t you think that many truth-challenged Americans will be on to this and work the system, fleecing us of our hard-earned tax dollars? Do your civic duty and scan the roll call list here and see if your congressional rep is on the Yea or Nay side of this thing. Call their office and give them hell if they voted Yea.
Update : Bluebitbull put up a great comment on this story…”….when the road is full of prius’ and daffodils or whatever the other hybrids are called, I will stil be driving an SUV. It will be like Gulliver among the Lilliputians.” Brilliant, visit Blue’s site here.

Just wanted to say hello. I am the Co-contributer of KOOKs blog. Judging by your Key Players in the Rebels Cause list, we have alot in common. I try to give a shout out to everyone who joins our blog. We need to unify if we are going to beat back the communist blight that is destroying our country. Thanks for visiting KOOKS blog and feel free to put your opinions out there. that is how we learn and grow as bloggers. Thanks for staying right out there on the left coast. We at KOOKs blog are a truly scattered bunch as I am in S.E Florida and KOOK is in Missouri. Thanks for becoming a member of KOOKS blog

Andrew – Thanks for your support too, any time that you need anything give me a 'head-up', for I am a fellow capitalistic, freedom loving Kook myself…..
Ugh. My so-called "conservative" Republican Congressman voted for this. His district office is right across the street from mine and I periodically have lunch with his district representative, so it will not be long before my dissatisfaction with this gets back to the man.
By the way, I love the graphic of the money in the toilet; might I borrow that later?
They are worried about getting voted back in by their constituents. What they don't realize is that most of these people don't like the excessive spending going on, and voting for more will ensure that they are voted out.
Anyways….when the road is full of prius' and daffodils or whatever the other hybrids are called, I will stil be driving an SUV. It will be like Gulliver among the Lilliputians.
I guess then it's up to us to not take advantage of a bad idea. I wonder how many of us who have clunkers will call a tow truck to haul it to the dump instead of cashing in?
Transplanted Lawyer – My guy voted against, I understand your frustration, tell his rep how unhappy that makes you and how unacceptable this is! BTW, you can use anything here for your site, thanks for reading.
Bluepitbull – Isn't that pathetic? I thought that the unanimous GOP stand against the stimulus bill meant something? I guess not. BTW, I'm putting the end of you comment in the post….brilliant.
Ananda – I wouldn't disparage you if you did take advantage of the new law, it's just a shame that our leaders are so pathetically loose with our tax dollars – even while we are broke!
Ok..here's my question. These vouchers are for down payments on the new government-produced cars, right? If this is just a down payment, who's going to pick up the tab for the balance of the loan when one of these "I don't have to work cuz I got welfare" sponges trades in their clunker? This is not gonna be pretty.
blackandgold – and therein lies the reason that socialism is so evil….
I believe that these vouchers are to try to prevent the coming boycott of GM and Chrysler. They will also be used to offset the coming tax increases. The Obama Regime will look at the $4500 voucher and the $4500 tax increase on the average American and say see… I told you your taxes wouldn't go up. What about someone like me who has an older car ( a 1991 Honda Prelude) that I like and intend to keep. THat Prelude while not all that fast, is fairly quick, handles great, looks good, not like an egg and gets good mileage. I know it's old but it was well taken care of and drives like it's brand new. There isn't enough money on GOD'S green Earth to get me to trade it. I had a 92 pontiac firebird before that was very similar. It has pop up lights and no cup holders. It is a pure sports car. They don't make 'em like that anymore. IT looks alot like the Knight rider car.
For those of you who don't know I refuse to use the word socialist. The word "socialism is a softer nicer word for COMMUNISM. That is what these people are doing is neutering the language so that bad things that we truly don't want can be snuck by us.On KOOK's blog I did a very long post about neutering the language and what words are really other things that are neutered. For example a community Organizer is a communist agitant. A migrant worker is an illegal alien. An abortion ia a murder. I can go on and on forever but the bottom line is we have to take back our country. If we truly want to do that, we have to undo the neutering of our language. You cant change perceptions of evil if evil is called "slightly negative". See my point?

If you like you could add KOOK's manifesto to your key players list. I will get KOOK to add your blog to our list as well. Other than that, join our debates. Tell us what is happening, give us your opinions. KOOK and I joined forces totally and while I 'm not for going that far,we can keep each other in our respective info-loops I want for us and I mean all of us to be to the point that when we are talking about something one day, the next day it's on the network news. I know that's ambitious but I truly see that possibility for KOOK and myself and those who comment on our blog. KOOK is an excellent writer and I can hold my own as well. I believe also that God is on our side and when you have God, you have the winning team. I see folks like LRC and B&GF and you folks are doing the same thing we are. WE are stylistically different from you but we see eye to eye on the big picture.
What none of us are considering is where do we go from here????
Andrew – Vouchers used for the coming boycott? Now that is something that I didn't even think of…..I must say, you might have to give up your 91 prelude for the Annointed One. I understand what you mean about the dumbing down of our language, I agree that many of the Obamanation's tenets are communistic….you definitely have a point!
Andrew – I will add you to my blogroll, on the right tab and frequent your debates as much as possible, just make sure you come around here too and send readers here as well. I will do the same. I like your ambition and I have high aspirations as well, I hope that we all as bloggers can get there. KOOK is a great writer as you are too, I spent a bit more time on the site and love what I see. Let's fight the good fight!….
This makes me mad! My car is a 2002 and in good shape and a car dealership only wanted to give me $500. Maybe I should contact my congressman and get him to offer me a better deal.
Michelle – It is certainly a joke but not funny, did your congressman vote yea?
If this deal was offering $4500 cash I would take it in exchange for my 86 Dodge Diplomat, but these are vouchers so I am not interested, I have friends with new cars and they have more problems than my old clunker. If it were cash I could buy another $500 car and take my family on a cruise or something.
Darth – And that is why this is so prepostoruous, we are living under a banana republic regime
