This morning I watched a good amount of the Obamanation’s town hall meeting in Missouri. It was mostly the typical Obamanation mantra of ”repeat a lie and it will eventually be believed.” I heard reiterations of greatest hits like ”95% of Americans getting tax cuts”, ”renewable” energy, ”tax cuts for the greedy rich” (can you believe how fervently they believe in the class warfare stuff?), and others. But it wasn’t until the Q&A afterwards that I saw something that really caught my eye.
In reference to a question on the tea parties the Obamanation replied “Those of you who are watching certain news channels on which I’m not very popular, and you see folks waving tea bags around, Obama said, “let me just remind them that I am happy to have a serious conversation about how we are going to cut our health care costs down over the long term, how we are going to stabilize Social Security.” “But let’s not play games and pretend that the reason is because of the Recovery Act.
Wow, what a defense of the largest increase in Federal government largess in US history. Having attended a tea party as well I will say that those in attendance were not demonstrating against the ”Recovery Act” ie. the ”Pork, Democrat grab-bag, spending bill”. People at tea parties were protesting against the general notion of the government squandering our nation’s resources and bankrupting future generations. A government that is so out of control that tea party goers felt that the entire financial viability of the US is at stake.

This is in direct contrast to the leftist – racist misfit ‘community organizer’ of which the Obamanation was a member. Definition of ‘community organizer’ from Wikipedia – Community organizing is a process by which people living in proximity to each other are brought together in an organization to act in their common self-interest
Sounds like tea party attendees? Doesn’t apply here because the tea party folk are demanding less forceful government interaction. Citizens demanding less, not holding their hands out claiming reparations for redress. They may have been claiming redress, but in a desire to be simply left alone and not taxed, shackled, and regulated into subsistence and serfdom. Imagine if hundreds of thousand of rabid ‘community organizer’ types had marched and protested in cities across the country?

Great blog. To add further to it, Obama says he wants to have a serious conversation, and yet rushes past debate on important issues. He hasn’t delivered the five-day on the Internet promise because he doesn’t want us to see what rights are being stolen from us.
BB – exactly! Activism is only ‘ok’ when it fits the leftist agenda
Well said!
opus – thank you, it’s the truth!
Your a beeter man than I am. If you can listen to the Obamanation for more than 30 seconds. After that I start yacking.
fd – tell me about it, I am popping a few anti-nausea meds before each round, trust me I wouldn’t listen if I didn’t have to….
“Let’s not play games”
WHAT? is he serious?! He is absolutely infuriating.
I got a message from the facebook tea party group I’m in and apparently Obama’s going to be meeting with the leaders to discuss health care reform, etc.
Obama Nation – do you mean Obama is going to be meeting with liberal leaders to discuss socializing 18% of the US economy?
LCR,
I just sit back and enjoy moments like that, because I know that we are getting to him and we are getting to him on television, in the middle of his speeches. How unpresidential for him to single out a group of voters like that, when he is supposed to represent all of America. For all his swagger he looks like a little child saying things like that. Moments like this cost him serious political capital.
Keep it up comrades!
Thanks for stopping by my blog.
I think the left really believes this whole bit about the Tea Parties, it’s a plot by Fox News and the far right. I say let them continue telling themselves this, at their own peril. Word is there were a lot of Democrats and independants at these. He can continue to enact his policies believing he has everyone behind him while they are actually out proesting his ruinous policies.
CG – I love it too, I mean, come on, hundreds of thousands of protesters have to be getting to him. I plan on attending the next one and spreading the word to get as many people out as possible. Indeed, very unpresidential, come on he’s a community organizer for cripes sake.
Chuck – Maybe you are right and it is best if they ignore the whole thing, that will probably make our cause even bigger!
Hussein’s comments were incredibly insulting.
RK – fitting considering the speaker…
The tea parties are getting to him, but not the way you want. He refuses to even explain how his spending is going save the economy, but he will gladly talk to you about healthcare reform, which totally pushes the issue away from the tax and spend insanity.
He is spinning the movement and he is so good at it, that most people will get into talking about healthcare and forget the real reason for the protest. Which is what he wants. When dealing with a liberal watch yourself carefully they are masters of turning your words around to hurt you.
Darth – I can see what you mean here, this ‘townhall’ was a perfect example of what you are saying, how do we get around this?
