John Patrick Bedell Tea Partier? Why Then was John Patrick Bedell a Registered Democrat?

by the Left Coast Rebel

Per Michelle Malkin I have a doozy of a detail about John Patrick Bedell the deceased Pentagon shooter that the main stream media is trying to pin on the Tea Party movemnent or conservatives in general.John Patrick Bedell, aka the Right Wing Extremist, Tea Party John Patrick Bedell was registered to vote and actively registered up to 2008. Tea Party guy John Patrick Bedell who decided to drive across the country (from Hollister, CA) and engage in a shootout with the Pentagon (not exactly a bright idea) was registered to vote — as a Democrat.

Via Electorates.us, Malkin has this:

EMID 15324137
PrefixTitle MR
REGDATE 20051006
PARTY Democrat
ResAddr1,ResAddr2,ResCity,ResState,ResZip 110 Georges Dr Hollister,CA

How’s that for destroying the press-meme today? More on this from The Other McCain, Michelle Malkin, Outside The Beltway, Moonbattery, Gateway Pundit, Jules Crittenden, The Jawa Report and Riehl World View, Saberpoint.

It has got to frustrate the lamestream media that the Tea Partiers are generally so well behaved. I will always remember 4/13/2009, the day I attended my first protest. It was the politest protest I could ever imagine.

Heh! John P. Bedell and I had a lot in common: both from Hollister, California and alumni of San Jose State U. I linked to your article at Saber Point.

Here is an update to my related post:

Update: Left Coast Rebel posted the voter record that gives Bedell's address in Hollister. I hopped in my car, punched the address into my GPS and tried to go over to his house. However, my GPS led me to the Ridgemark Golf & Country Club, where Bedell lived in a gated community (complete with a guard shack), so I couldn't complete my journey. In any case, it appears Bedell wasn't economically depressed.

The media spent the whole day after this crime calling Bedell "anti-government", but they didn't utter a single word in weeks about Nidal Hasan being muslim.

I saw an aerial view of the guy's house last night on the news: it was HUGE.

Nick, you gave me a good idea. You can view Bedell's house from Google Maps, both aerial and street view. The house is indeed huge, and has a pool and spa in the back yard.

Patrick's family house is in an older but nice part of a gated golfcourse community built in the 60s and 70s. It's not huge, not small either; not flashy or fancy. His family is upper middle class; fiscal conservative, social mid-liberal. Patrick was a amiable guy. He was 'nerdly' only that physically he was a late bloomer; a pudgy kid. He was socially outgoing somewhat, and extremely bright. This is a recollection prior to the last 10 or 15 years when I wasn't aware of his mental illness. What I take from the incident is what is known about mental illness– people can't self diagnose mental illness. I wish he'd gotten help and stuck with it. Patrick wasn't meant to be a line worker, programming code, etc., in a big company. He had the brilliant edge that could have helped him make big contributions to society in computer science, engineering, etc. I recall a conversation with his father years ago, Patrick hadn't been accepted to Berkeley, though I'm unsure if he applied, however, an [engineering or IT] dept head had given him an office to work on a gps-in-phone microchip project/idea, he was in his early 20s, this was in the early '90s. He was very bright and had original ideas. I don't know how he ended up where he did, or if I knew him recently if I'd like him. Nonetheless, this is all unfortunate.
