A bitter pill: SCOTUS upholds Obamacare and individual mandate.
I’m reminded of a famous quote:
They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.
From this point forward, it literally will take an act of Congress to get the health care you need.
UPDATE: Apparently Congress can do anything it wants to you as long as it’s “characterized as a tax.”
UPDATE II: “The Medicaid expansion thus violates the Constitution” — says states have choice on participating in expansion.
Obamacare was passed by anti-American socialists, who bullied some moderate democrats into voting with them.
ReplyDeleteObama has already proven himself to be an inept, inexperienced, incompetent, anti-American, socialistic, Muslim-leaning, ex-lawyer dufus.
Our Supreme Court should be slapping down the idiotic legislation passed by clueless democrats and signed by an equally clueless inept President Obama.
The court is made of cowards, afraid of doing what they swore to uphold.
And there is corruption in government because the so called Progressive American people have allowed it!
The economy is going to plummet as will the Stock Market today and jobless rates will explode.
On this we'll have to see. I am not so sure that this is so.
Delete"The economy is going to plummet as will the Stock Market today and jobless rates will explode." As of this comment (11:38 AM) the Dow is down 122 points.
Much of the negative economic impact of ObamaCare is already baked into the economy. 1.9% GDP growth will be the norm for a while.
ReplyDeleteTime for a Mandatory Federal Firearms Law, Enter the Affordable Firearms Act.
ReplyDeleteSet it up with so the purchase is routed through the gub'ment … that way it will be a constitutional 'tax.'
DeleteJust awful. This is so much bigger than Obamacare. The precedent this sets is tragic. Obamacare can still be undone through electoral victory – the precedent will do damage for decades, if not longer.
ReplyDeleteIt's just getting to the point that we've entered the ridiculous. If the Mad Hatter and the cast from Alice and Wonderland were the Supreme Court, would we abide with whatever crazy stuff they decreed?
ReplyDeleteThis is the end of a 100 year long marathon for the organized money. They've been working this angle for a long, long time.
I want a tax on people who vote Democrat
ReplyDeleteI felt like throwing up when I saw this news in Costa Rica; I passed a newspaper stand and couldn't help seeing it. I haven't even wrapped my mind around what this means yet.
