This morning on the news, they profiled a young lady – Chelsea King (left), 17 who has been missing since Thursday night. Chelsea King was last seen after school and went on a trail run at the Rancho Bernardo Community Center on West Bernardo Drive here in San Diego. She attends Poway High School.
San Diego’s 10 News updated just a few hours ago on the search for Chelsea King:
Scores of sheriff’s personnel, police officers and volunteers combed the north Rancho Bernardo area Friday with tracking dogs searching for a 17-year-old Poway girl reported missing by her family after she failed to return home from an after-school run.”We have probably 150 to 250 deputies, officers, agents and volunteers all night long and they will continue to stay here as long as needed,” said Jan Caldwell, a spokeswoman for the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.
King is white, around 5 feet 5 and 115 pounds, with blonde hair and blue eyes. A family spokeswoman told news media at the center that King is a member of the San Diego Youth Symphony, a straight-A student and has been eagerly awaiting college acceptance letters. She is slated to graduate from Poway High School this spring, according to the spokeswoman.
Anyone with information on her whereabouts was urged to call the sheriff’s department at 858-565-5200 or San Diego County Crime Stoppers at 619-531-2000.
