The Obamanation is an Abomination – Alan Keyes
Alan Keyes is an articulate conservative activist, black man, and three-time presidential candidate. He truly calls it like it is. Highlights – “We have put insane children and adolescents in charge of our government.” Another – “A couple years ago we were arguing over every penny in the United States budget and it was quite clear that we didn’t have enough money to go around, well somebody asked me where we came up with 2 trillion dollars in the course of the last 6 months, did we wish for it out of the air? Have people gone mad in this country?” “And we are all acting like the laws of economics have been repealed, and we can actually afford to foot the bill with money that nobodie’s got.”

Czech Premier – US economic path ‘road to hell’
This one speaks for itself, mainstream media where are you on this? Czech Prime Minister and chair of the EU presidency scolding the Democrats and the Obamanation on their march to socialism. My favorite quotes –
- “All of these steps, these combinations and [their] permanency is the road to hell”
- “We need to read the history books and the lessons of history and the biggest success of the [EU] is the refusal to go this way”
- “The American president is not a messiah”
American Media Leninist Parallels
I came across this article in the American Thinker today. In the 1960s and 70s Mr. Muller, (the author of the piece), spent a great amount of time studying Communist media publications. He familiarized himself with their overarching voice, assumptions, and premises. He is an obvious expert on the topic. Of highest note to me was the fact that he thinks that our media here in the U.S. fits the mold of the communist countries nearly to a T. By this he means they follow the broad guidelines or rules (nine of them), that he lists. These were compiled during his studies of communist regimes. Here they are and judge for yourself as to whether or not what he thinks is valid –
- The press is part of the Party establishment, not an independent or adversarial entity. The press does not think of itself as a prisoner of the Party, resentfully forced to abandon objectivity in favor of propaganda. Rather, it sees itself as fulfilling a critically important role in supporting and expanding Party rule. Writers are not journalists in the classic Western sense, but are political activists or functionaries
- The Party decides what is news, what is not, what will be reported, and what will not. The press is used to convey Party positions, and politically correct thinking, to the population. Grass-roots activists read, heed, and promote everything carried in the press. The general populace barely reads it, but has no other source of information or worldview, so tends to passively accept the press’s messages.
- Articles must carry the interpretation of events that the Party wishes to convey, without regard to objective accuracy. The press evinces utter certainty of the wisdom and correctness of the Party’s motivations, worldview, and policies; no differentiation – much less opposition – is allowed.
- From time to time, the Party uses the press to agitate the populace in a motivational campaign, aimed either at accomplishing a major goal (such as the Great Leap Forward), or criticizing a domestic Party opponent or a foreign country.
- The Party’s leading individuals always receive deference, reverence, approval, even adulation. No criticism or adverse reflections on Party leaders are allowed. Senior Party figures have unrestricted access to press coverage. Investigative journalism is rare, and unthinkable if directed against Party organizations, leaders, programs, or policies.
Individuals opposed to Party rule are selected as targets of disapproval, usually to the point of demonization. Criticism usually extends to allegations of personal corruption, wickedness, or barbarism. Terms used to vilify Party opponents are formulaic, seeming to draw from a lexicon developed for the purpose; there is little if any verbal creativity in criticism of Party-designated targets. Critics or independent thinkers who are not demonized become non-persons, ignored in all articles related to their areas of expertise or attention. - Fabrication of events, quotations – even people – is permitted in furtherance of Party objectives. Historical facts, or previous Party positions, may be omitted or reshaped to fit current political requirements. The press will report no past error by the Party or its leaders, except when a leader or faction has fallen afoul of the current ruling Party group – then reporting takes the form of demonization.
- National security topics are viewed exclusively through the prism of Party interest. Threats will be ignored if the Party is not worried about them, or if in some way they reflect badly on the Party’s performance in foreign affairs. Conversely, bogus threats will be touted if doing so is in the Party’s interest.
- Independent media outlets are either forbidden, or permitted only if they address topics of no political impact.

”The practical implications of this is bankruptcy for the United States. There’s no other way around it,” Gregg said. “If we maintain the proposals which are in this budget over the 10-year period that this budget covers, this country will go bankrupt. People will not buy our debt; our dollar will become devalued.”
“The Republican senator said Obama’s spending plan in the midst of a prolonged recession would leave the next generation with a country too expensive to live in.”

The European Socialization of America – Cap and Trade
“Cap-and-trade is a way to impose a massive energy tax and pretend it’s not a tax. It puts a cap on overall greenhouse gas emissions, and establishes a market for companies to buy and sell the permits. In Obama’s version, the permits would all be auctioned off and the hundreds of billions of dollars would be used to fund higher government spending.”
”The so-called cap-and-trade energy tax would, according to the president himself, force energy prices to go way up. In an unguarded moment, speaking to The San Francisco Chronicle last year, Obama said: “Under my plan of a cap and trade system, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket… they would have to retrofit their operations. That will cost money. They will pass that money on to consumers.”
”And what do we buy, environmentally, with this enormous hit to the economy? Basically, nothing. Cap and trade is already failing to reduce emissions in Europe. And even if emissions targets are met, climate models show that the reductions would have no detectable impact on global average temperatures. That’s why leading climate alarmists have hailed a Kyoto-style cap-and-trade regime as just the first step of 30 to curb global economic activity. There’s never a good time to embark down such a path, but it seems particularly hare-brained during an economic crisis.”

Great NYT Piece, Did I Just Say That?
The Commercial Republic By David Brooks
Hhighlights –
“The Great Depression suppressed economic activity, but not the commercial spirit. In the middle of it, Dale Carnegie published “How to Win Friends and Influence People,” which promised imminent success and went on to sell more copies than any other book to that point but the Bible. The stagflation of the 1970s didn’t discredit capitalism. It gave rise to the supply-side movement and the apotheosis of the entrepreneur. “
“In short, the United States will never be Europe. It was born as a commercial republic. It’s addicted to the pace of commercial enterprise. After periodic pauses, the country inevitably returns to its elemental nature.
The U.S. is in one of those pauses today. It has been odd, over the past six months, not to have the gospel of success as part of the normal background music of life. You go about your day, taking in the news and the new movies, books and songs, and only gradually do you become aware that there is an absence. There are no aspirational stories of rags-to-riches success floating around. There are no new how-to-get-rich enthusiasms. There are few magazine covers breathlessly telling readers that some new possibility — biotechnology, nanotechnology — is about to change everything. That part of American culture that stokes ambition and encourages risk has gone silent. “
“Washington is temporarily at the center of the nation’s economic gravity and a noncommercial administration holds sway. This is an administration that has many lawyers and academics but almost no businesspeople in it, let alone self-made entrepreneurs. The president speaks passionately about education and health care reform, but he is strangely aloof from the banking crisis and displays no passion when speaking about commercial drive and success.”

Queen Pelosi and her Gulf Stream V by Tim Daniel
This is an incredible story and documents precisely that which the media anointed Democrat Ruling Class does not want the public to know – that they are corrupt on an unequaled basis, hypocritical in their assertions to be above the fray of ‘greedy wall street’ corporations and Republicans, and shockingly oblivious to the plight of hard – working, tax – paying Americans. To say the least, Nancy Pelosi is the Queen Bee of this kind of politician today. She is a true-blue, dyed-in-the wool San Francisco Bay Area Liberal (that was a mouthful), and the 3rd most powerful person in America.
Democrats – this is your leader, are you happy? America – do you approve of this person and her twisted value system? Middle America – do you think that Bay Area Leftists should control our country? After all, she is the Obamanation’s right – hand lady – she controls the agenda, purse strings, and debate in the House of Representatives.
On to the story. Recently the conservative watchdog group Judicial Watch filed a Freedom of Information request in order to uncover facts about her use, (read abuse), of taxpayer – funded jet charters as a supposed personal airline service. This service provided by the Feds started after the September 11th attacks for then Speaker Dennis Hastert who used a 12-seat Air Force jet. Apparently the new Fed rules since 9-11 are to provide a ”reasonable level of military transport”.
The jet the Queen has upgraded to is a Gulfstream V, a 19 seater and quite a step above the previous Speaker’s. Her office has claimed it’s necessity due to the fact that the V doesn’t need to refuel to get to San Francisco!?!? God forbid that one of our Anointed Ones would have to refuel as us peasants would have to. Do peasants even have jets?
Ms. Pelosi seems to be obviously running with the ball on this job perk. Accordingly she often cancels and changes military flights at the last minute, has flown around the world to social gatherings and treats the military personnel that cater to her like garbage. When Pelosi’s office was recently questioned by Fox’s O’Reilly team as to how many social trips she has made on the V, her spokesman said ‘he didn’t know.’ Of course not. Bay Area Elitist, two-faced carbon footprint anyone? Truly outrageous and insane, it’s no wonder Congress has a lower public perception than ambulance-chaser attorney types. Click below for incredible information on this, including emails from her office.

”Down Markets and Dumb Economic Myths” by John Tamny
Highlights –
“The logic with housing is completely backwards. The economy is not sagging because home prices have moderated, but it wilts because a weak, inflationary dollar this decade caused a rush into the asset class to begin with, and prices rose. While the average American does not follow the dollar’s movements versus the objective benchmark that is gold with any regularity, a majority of Americans do follow housing prices.”
“This is why housing booms that eclipse stock-market returns always end in tears. Think Nixon’s presidency, and similarly think Carter’s presidency when housing was the top asset class. The Bush administration merely followed the weak dollar policies of Nixon and Carter, and fomented another property rally. “

Obama-rama spending bill through… but let’s reform earmarks!
Let’s imagine this: A depressed dieter, lazing on the couch with a half-gallon of chunky monkey shovels frozen decadence down her throat like she’s about to win $100,000 in a speed eating contest. As she does, she says, “I’m going to change my eating habits and become healthy.”
Or this: A newly married couple heads to Home Depot to buy appliances for their new home. They open a store account and charge $9,300 in brand new stainless steel, top of the line range, oven, fridge, washer, dryer, and dishwasher. As they leave, they discuss how they’re going to be frugal.
Does this sound crazy to you?
Well, it shouldn’t!
Today, President Obama signed the massive $410 billion spending bill, which was loaded with nearly 8,000 earmarks. Ironically, he decided at that time that he needs to implement an “earmark reform.” Funny. “The president outlined “principles” for earmark reform, including: earmarks should have a “legitimate and worthy” purpose, lawmakers should post their requests on their Web sites and that any earmark for a for-profit private company should be subjected to a bidding process and heightened scrutiny.”(Davis, 1)
Why did our president, who won the election based on bi-partisan wishes and “change”, do the typical Washington thing and ram a 1ooo+ page bill through giving Congress 48 hours to read it? (Can somebody even read a John Grisham novel that fast??) If his money was where his mouth was, he would have cleaned up the “imperfect” bill. He would have taken a stand against Congress and said, “clean it up.” He would have been the change he promised at this opportunity.
But what do I know? I don’t really pay attention to the “bobbing up and down” of the president’s personality.

Manchurian Candidate Obama
Kevin Hassett at Bloomberg –
“March 9 (Bloomberg) — Back in the 1960s, Lyndon Johnson gave us the War on Poverty. In the 1970s, Richard Nixon launched the War on Drugs. Now that we have seen President Barack Obama’s first-year legislative agenda, we know what kind of a war he intends to wage.
It is no wonder that markets are imploding around us. Obama is giving us the War on Business.
Imagine that some hypothetical enemy state spent years preparing a “Manchurian Candidate” to destroy the U.S. economy once elected. What policies might that leader pursue?
He might discourage private capital from entering the financial sector by instructing his Treasury secretary to repeatedly promise a brilliant rescue plan, but never actually have one. Private firms, spooked by the thought of what government might do, would shy away from transactions altogether. If the secretary were smooth and played rope-a-dope long enough, the whole financial sector would be gone before voters could demand action.
Another diabolical idea would be to significantly increase taxes on whatever firms are still standing. That would require subterfuge, since increasing tax rates would be too obvious. Our Manchurian Candidate would have plenty of sophisticated ideas on changing the rules to get more revenue without increasing rates, such as auctioning off “permits.”
These steps would create near-term distress. If our Manchurian Candidate leader really wanted to knock the country down for good, he would have to provide insurance against any long-run recovery.”

Jim Cramer – Taken out of Context by Jon Stewart Etc.
Cramer’s recent observations –
“President Obama’s team, unlike Bush’s team, demonstrates a thinness of skin that shocks me.”
“Are they really that blind to the Great Wealth Destruction they are causing with their decisions to demonize the bankers, raise taxes for the wealthy, advocate draconian cap-and-trade policies and upend the health care system? Do they really believe that only the rich own stocks? What do they think we have our retirement accounts in, CDs? Where did they think that the money saved for college went, our mattresses? Do they think the great middle class banks at the First National Bank of Sealy and only the wealthiest traffic in the Standard & Poor’s 500?”
No He Can’t by Anne Wortham
The following was written by Anne Hortham ten days after the election of Barack Obama, her bio is after the piece.
Fellow Americans,
Please know: I am black; I grew up in the segregated South. I did not vote for Barack Obama; I wrote in Ron Paul’s name as my choice for president.
Most importantly, I am not race conscious. I do not require a black president to know that I am a person of worth, and that life is
worth living. I do not require a black president to love the ideal of America.
I cannot join you in your celebration. I feel no elation. There is no smile on my face. I am not jumping with joy. There are no tears of triumph in my eyes. For such emotions and behavior to come from me, I would have to deny all that I know about the requirements of human flourishing and survival, – all that I know about the history of the United States of America, all that I know about American race relations, and all that I know about Barack Obama as a politician. I would have to deny the nature of the “change” that Obama asserts has come to America.
Most importantly, I would have to abnegate my certain understanding that you have chosen to sprint down the road to serfdom that we have been on for over a century. I would have to pretend that individual liberty has no value for the success of a human life. I would have to evade your rejection of the slender reed of capitalism on which your success and mine depend. I would have to think it somehow rational that 94 percent of the 12 million blacks in this country voted for a man because he looks like them (that blacks are permitted to play the race card), and that they were joined by self-declared “progressive” whites who voted for him because he doesn’t look like them. I would have to wipe my mind clean of all that I know about the kind of people who have advised and taught Barack Obama and will fill posts in his administration, – political intellectuals like my former colleagues at the Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government.
I would have to believe that “fairness” is the equivalent of justice. I would have to believe that man who asks me to “go forward in a new spirit of service, in a new service of sacrifice” is speaking in my interest. I would have to accept the premise of a man that economic prosperity comes from the “bottom up,” and who arrogantly believes that he can will it into existence by the use of government force. I would have to admire a man who thinks the standard of living of the masses can be improved by destroying the most productive and the generators of wealth.
Finally, Americans, I would have to erase from my consciousness the scene of 125,000 screaming, crying, cheering people in Grant Park, Chicago irrationally chanting “Yes We Can!” Finally, I would have to wipe all memory of all the times I have heard politicians, pundits, journalists, editorialists, bloggers and intellectuals declare that capitalism is dead – and no one, including especially Alan Greenspan, objected to their assumption that the particular version of the anti-capitalistic mentality that they want to replace with their own version of anti-capitalism is anything remotely equivalent to capitalism.
So you have made history, Americans. You and your children have elected a black man to the office of the president of the United States , the wounded giant of the world. The battle between John Wayne and Jane Fonda is over – and that Fonda won. Eugene McCarthy and George McGovern must be very happy men. Jimmie Carter, too. And the Kennedys have at last gotten their Kennedy look-a-like. The self-righteous welfare statists in the suburbs can feel warm moments of satisfaction for having elected a black person. So, toast yourselves: 60s countercultural radicals, 80s yuppies and 90s bourgeois bohemians. Toast yourselves, Black America . Shout your glee Harvard, Princeton , Yale, Duke, Stanford, and Berkeley. You have elected not an individual who is qualified to be president, but a black man who, like the pragmatist Franklin Roosevelt, promises to – Do Something! You now have someone who has picked up the baton of Lyndon Johnson’s Great Society. But you have also foolishly traded your freedom and mine, – what little there is left, – for the chance to feel good. There is nothing in me that can share your happy obliviousness.
Anne Wortham is Associate Professor of Sociology at Illinois State University and continuing Visiting Scholar at Stanford University’s Hoover Institution. Dr. Wortham is author of “The Other Side of Racism : A Philosophical Study of Black Race Consciousness.” Recently, she authored articles on the multiculturalism and Afroncentrism in education, the politics of victimization and the political impact of political correctness. “You Never Want a Serious Crisis to go to Waste” Rahm Emanuel
by Tim Daniel
The above phrase was uttered by none other than Obama’s chief of staff Rahm Emanuel before a conference in November of 2008 in regards to the financial crisis and the Democrat agenda. Typically the chief of staff in an administration controls the overall agenda and the inflow of information to the president. In a nutshell this person is the right – hand – man of the president and thought of as the 2nd most powerful person in the United States.
That said, once in a great while a pol in Washington let’s the cat out of the bag and confirms everything that we ‘peasants’ fear about our representative government. Many of us fear that big – government leaders simply look at problems and crises as a way to enrichen themselves and further entangle the free market with the tentacles of an overbearing and overeaching activist government. They simply do not want to fix a problem with our system, they want to expand their power. Think back to history in the 1930’s. FDR instituted scores of new bueracracies, all with negligible effect on unemployment and definitive hampering effects on private enterprise. Capital went on strike and the economy languished until the 1940’s when World War II broke out. My generation today now pays the price for these government systems that FDR installed, Social Security and Medicare being the worst in my opinion. As a self – employed person, my earnings are taxed 15% for SSI alone, not including my federal and state tax rates. Through perpetuity I am taxed, with no say in it, for a system that I believe I will not see a dime from. And yet it still will never be enough for our politicians. “Hope” and “Change” are just code – phrases for the same old worn – out cradle – to grave government entitlement mentality. Dogmatic liberalism is clearly a mental dysfunction that squander liberty, dignity and upward mobility. I will keep the ”You Never Want a Serious Crisis to go to Waste” theme as a running update on our Fearless Leader and the path to socialism that America is on.

Jim Cramer on White House Enemy List?
Another gift from the Fearless Leader camp today to my blog. Apparently there is a rumour out there that Cramer, (brave enough to call out the Obamanation attack on capital), is on the White House’s enemy list. Cramer thinks that the Obama camp is blinded by their ‘save the world’ mentality and that they are pushing a radical agenda on the cusp of an economic downturn that may turn into a depression. A depression is in play with an administration declaring war on the very businesses that it needs to creat jobs and revive the economy. It is my guess here that Cramer is playing his cards well – he’s a Democrat and he wants to protect his image amongst the investor class. He sees the danger of the Obamanation and that they, along with Congress, are not even remotely governing from the center. I can offer dozens of points as to why this was misguided on his part in the first place but what’s done is done.
Today from his site –
” call me a general of an army that Obama may not even know exists — tens of millions of people who live in fear of having no money when they need it and who get poorer by the day.”
“But Obama has undeniably made things worse by creating an atmosphere of fear and panic rather than an atmosphere of calm and hope. He’s done it by pushing a huge amount of change at a very perilous moment, by seeking to demonize the entire banking system and by raising taxes for those making more than $250,000 at the exact time when we need them to spend and build new businesses, and by revoking deductions for funds to charity that help eliminate the excess supply of homes.”

Probably my favorite of all of Reagan’s quotes, succint and brilliant in simplicity and so applicable to today’s governmental dysfunction. I might change his wording just a bit and say that in today’s Obamanation instead of subsidization we have opted for ‘bailouts’. Lest we forget as well that this dysfunction was started under Bush and company – our so – called republican team that abandoned Reagan’s ‘Shining City Upon a Hill’ ethos. America needs Reagan, a leader that believed in the sanctity of the individual and American exceptionalism.

Editorial of the day March 4 2009
At year’s end, the couple find they have actually made a profit of $500,000 that they can take home in salary. What is the Obama-Schwarzenegger tax take on that salary? Their U.S. tax rate will have hit 39.6%. Their California income tax will have hit 9.55%.
Medicare payroll taxes on the proprietor as both employer and salaried employee will be $14,500. Social Security payroll taxes for the proprietor as both employer and employee will be $13,243.
In short, U.S. and state income and payroll taxes will consume half of all the pair earned for some 8,000 hours of work.
From that ravaged salary they must pay a state sales tax of 8.25%, gas taxes for the 50-mile commute, and tens of thousands in property taxes on both their restaurant and home.
And, after being pilloried by politicians for having feasted in the Bush era, they are now told the tax deduction they get for contributing to the church is to be cut 20%, while millions of Obama voters, who paid no U.S. income tax at all, will be getting a tax cut — i.e., a fat little check — in April.”
Jim Cramer on Obama
Yesterday Jim Cramer, host of “Mad Money” on CNBC laid it out on what Obama’s government efforts and attitude toward the American free market are doing to wealth in the US. It is fascinating to me to hear Cramer voicing this opinion – this is an indication of the public waking up. Cramer is not a Libertarian/Conservative and actually endorsed the Obamanation. I would put him in the moderate Democrat camp. Take it from me fellow Rebels, this president and his socialist agenda has peaked! Cramer proves my point.

It may take too much time to respond to every point in this ‘piece’ but I’ll highlight a few –
- Mr Millman’s first point in the article is that Mexico ”has complained that the US doesn’t stop the flow of guns heading south.” ( Do I even need to go here? Since when do we as American care a wit about the feelings of our neighbor to the south? The government there has made a concerted effort over decades to encourage, disregard, and even profit from Amerian entitlement programs, lax border security, ‘look the other way’ drug enforcement policies narco terorrism as of late.
- This later on ”The three highest priorities for me in terms of U.S. cooperation in the drugs war are these: guns, guns, guns,” Mexican Attorney General Eduardo Medina Mora said in a recent interview with The Wall Street Journal. “These drug groups intimidate society and government because of their firepower. And their firepower comes from the U.S.” ( Blame America, Mexico is just a victim, we are not at fault, we are a benevolent, peaceful people……obvious just exactly what the American Left wants to hear, we in the heartland know better. Mexico is a victim of it’s own corruption, incompetence, societal backwardness, laziness and socialism.)
Also, Matt Daniel, distinguished brother of the Left Coast Rebel had this to say –
“Joel,
Congrats on your recent article about guns “fueling” drug crime in Mexico as you are perfectly positioned to join your competitor, the New York Times.
I thought your recent article is biased and doesn’t clearly present the issues at hand.
It is quite clear that a culture of corruption in Mexico has allowed the drug cartels to run the country- police have a choice of joining cartel payrolls or eventual execution. The inability of police and to some extent, the military to reign in these cartels is promoting turf wars and further anarchy.
Firearms don’t “fuel” drug crime. If so, wouldn’t countries with a high prevalence of gun ownership, such as America, Switzerland, France, Sweden etc. have similar organized crime problems?
“Cop-killer” firearms and bullets are a media-born sensation. In reality, any rifle caliber is capable of defeating police body armor, including an AK-47 round.
The “AK-47s” mentioned in your article do not differentiate between those available in the U.S. which are solely semi-automatic and AK-47s available elsewhere in the world, which are fully automatic (and machine guns).
I think it is funny (and quite pathetic) that Mexico isn’t owning up to their own problems and is blaming America and our right-to-own freedoms for their rampant crime. Guns should not be the scapegoat of Mexico’s crisis.
Mexico’s culture of corruption and lawlessness is the sole engine of this runaway crime.”
Brilliantly put Matt.I would be amiss to discuss this much further, read it and pass it along, email this ‘reporter’ if you get a chance too!
