Watch President Drip with Sincerity

By Proof

The President graced us with with a speech tonight that will make us forget the Gettysburg address, will make us forget "We have nothing to fear but fear itself", make us forget "Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country".

Well, not forget, exactly. But, being in a coma is almost like forgetting, isn't it? Within minutes of the people who actually risked their lives and were responsible for capturing the bombing suspect ending their press conference, Barry sprinted to the sound of the microphones and cameras to insert himself into the spotlight before it faded. I suppose he could have called the first responders and FBI, and congratulated them personally for a job well done... if it had been about them. But, no one would have seen him do that. I suppose he could have invited them up to the White House for a small ceremony, or some random golf course for a round of golf. But, not as many people would be paying attention then. President Me couldn't bear the thought of passing up the opportunity to put his face in front of the American people one more time.

Hope he thinks it was worth it. Watch, or watch again the colorless, bland and boring laundry list of people dying, losing their homes and being maimed for life, and tell me if the president reeks with sincerity or just reeks?

The Master of Understatement tells us, "it's been a tough week". Really, Barry? What was your first clue? His listless recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance at the end was particularly less than inspiring. But, the performance did put me in mind of a similarly passionate oration:

The saying is "always leave them wanting more", Barry. Not "always leave them wanting you to leave."

Update: And here I thought it was just me! "Robotic, Emotionless President Obama Gets Boston Victim’s Name Wrong" It's "Lu Lingzi", not "Ling Su Lu".

  2. Thus we enter the first of the 5 stages of Bullsh*t...

    1. The crocodile tears. This includes the False Moment of National Unity, during which people proclaim that events like this bring us together, even as they sharpen their partisan knives for the next step.

    2. The blood libel. With no data, motive is assigned to some conservative group or belief. This proves false 100% of the time, but like a tattoo, the accusation can never be entirely removed.

    3. The Rorschach test. Every politician and pundit on earth pens an editorial explaining how this one isolated event has a much broader meaning that proves everything he’s been saying for the last 20 years.

    4. Something Must Be Done. A national debate ensues on how to make sure that something like this never happens again. This event was a wake-up call and a game-changer. Everything must be on the table. We must not allow a 200-year-old piece of parchment to prevent us from Acting Right Away.

    5. Suzy’s Law. Congress vomits forth a bipartisan bill that no member dare vote against. For precisely that reason, the bill includes a litany of unrelated pork and policy for both parties that could never otherwise pass. In exchange for a few billion dollars and a bit of your liberty, the president, surrounded by beaming legislators, offers a few cloying words about “what this town can do when people put their differences aside” and ostentatiously signs “Suzy’s Law”, a new set of rules that, had they been in place before the tragedy, would have made absolutely no difference."

  3. I can't help but wonder how simular words spoken by a President Romney or former President GWB would have been received.

It seems to me Obama was doing what Presidents do and a large number of the population expects.

    Just sayin...

    1. I'll give you an abbreviated version of my answer to Ema: Can you point to so much as a single thing he said that was so urgent it could not have waited until his regularly scheduled, weekly radio address to the nation? It was just a matter of hours from when he addressed the nation on Friday night, until he would again address them on Saturday morning. Why the rush? Please name for us one single thing he said so important that it could not have waited until this AM?

Again, can you point to a single word or phrase he said that would indicate his passion for the subject was greater than his passion to be in front of a TV camera? We'll wait.

Does he keep his fake sincerity in his other teleprompter*? Just sayin...

*I know. He was reading from notes. Again, showing us the heartfelt passion of this "great orator". /sarc

It is a joy to watch such a petty man like you, as you are consumed by your irrational hatred of a good man. Please continue to spit your ineffectual venom; it shows how enfeebled you have made yourself.

Doesn't it just gall you to know Mr Obama continues to be successful while you remain lowly PROOF?

    1. Dear dimwitted Ema! You never fail to disappoint either! And since you spam the same comment in two different places, I will repeat my answer, so that at some future date, you might actually stumble upon one of them!

"It is a joy to watch such a petty man like you, as you are consumed by your irrational hatred of a good man."

Your projection is duly noted. You are indeed the petty one and I am the good man. That much is obvious! It must gall you to have such an insignificant blog, while mine, by comparison, is wildly successful.

A couple of differences between you and I, Ema: One, I typically criticize Obama for what he actually says and does, whereas you generally criticize me for things I never said.

Two, I provide evidence, even for my opinions. You, on the other hand, deal in vicious lies based on only your irrational fear and loathing of conservatives.

I presented evidence of Barry O's unnecessary insertion onto the national stage in the form of his own words. Did you listen to the video, dear Ema, or just launch into an attack blindly as usual?

If your personal attack on me was warranted, no doubt you could have presented evidence to the contrary. Can you point to so much as a single thing he said that was so urgent it could not have waited until his regularly scheduled, weekly radio address to the nation? That's right, Ema. It was just a matter of hours from when he addressed the nation on Friday night, until he would again address them on Saturday morning. Why the rush?

Please name for us one single thing he said so important that it could not have waited until this AM?

And, if you were the type who dealt in facts or truth, dear Ema, (stop laughing!) you could point out exactly where in this bloodless, passionless and dull recitation of facts (and the pledge of allegiance) where he showed any passion at all? Please feel free to review the tape and tell us which word or words to listen for, if you are able.

And please, the vicious lie you recently told about me "hoping for a terrorist attack on the US since 2008", have you a single word I've said, a single link, a single shred of evidence to back up your feeble, ineffectual and vicious libel? That's your M.O., Ema: No facts, just personal, venomous attacks.

"Please continue to spit your ineffectual venom; it shows how enfeebled you have made yourself."

More projection. You do describe yourself pretty well, though. I guess there in the asylum you have a lot of time on your hands to think of such things?

  5. And for all you who believe I am too harsh on the President, notice that I purposefully did not put a comma after the word "Drip" in the headline!

    1. Physician, heal thyself. Are you saying it's okay for Obama to be a cold fish, but not okay for me to point it out?

    2. Physician heal thyself... becoming a tiring and rather pointless repetition.

Many, although I do not include myself amongst the many, disagree with your assessment Obama was a "cold fish."

As to whether I think it okay for you to point out your perception... ABOLUTELY it is okay. I would be disappointed if you didn't.

I assume you're okay with observations that Don't mirror your own views?

Political correctness pisses me off no matter which side of the political gully it emanates from.

    3. "becoming a tiring and rather pointless repetition" To your tiring and rather pointless comments. Sorry if the shoe fits...

"Political correctness pisses me off no matter which side of the political gully it emanates from." Talk about pointless! What did I say that could be construed as "politically correct"? Perhaps you would like to climb down off your high horse and actually deal with specific points I have made? If not, just give us another snide platitude for the road.
