(PHOTO) Jon McNaughton: Obama Sets Fire to the Constitution; One Nation Under Socialism

 By the Left Coast Rebel

We highligted artist Jon Mcnaugton's stunning "Forgotten Man" painting where the Founders and past presidents look on in horror as Obama tramples (literally) the Constitution.

Not one to be outdone, Jon McNaughton is causing heads to explode with his new "One Nation Under Socialism" painting wherein King Obama is literally setting fire to the Constitution:

No wonder this painting is so controversial. It hits the ball out of the park. We peasants can't have that. How dare we!

The author's website describes his Paul Revere-esque intentions as thus...

Our federal government has been moving in the direction of socialism for over one hundred years.  Many presidents and politicians have compromised the Constitution as we have given away our freedoms under the guise of entitlements and government intervention.  When the people are willing to sacrifice the next generation for their current lifestyles and allow the federal government to have all the power for an illusory mess of pottage—you have chosen One Nation Under Socialism.
Socialism uses the illusion of offering fairness and justice for everyone by redistributing the wealth of the nation; picking and choosing winners and losers.
This administration has taken over our health care system, given bailouts to the automotive industry, banking industry and energy industry.  They support the “Occupy Wall Street” movement of increased taxing of the rich to pay for the welfare of the “less rich.”  The Constitution never guaranteed equal things—only equal rights and justice.  In America we should be FREE TO SUCCEED and FREE TO FAIL!

At this very moment our Constitution is literally going up in flames.  What will you do to preserve the Constitution and save America?
Hear, hear.

Updated: What gives? I just visited the artist's website and it is down?

Updated x2: I'm back and so is the site. Strangely though, I found that the "One Nation Under Socialism" painting is not available. I wonder if the White House contacted Jon McNaughton and threatened him as they did with other press outlets in spooky Cuba-like fashion today.

  3. Socialism - Fascism, in which direction is th nation actually trending?

Facism, as you undoubtedly know is socialism. Greater minds than mine, Ayn Rand and Leonard Piekoff to name two thought Facism was the direction the country was heading. Given what we see, and the evidence is all around us, I certainly must agree.

"Our federal government has been moving in the direction of socialism for over one hundred years."

Not true. The Constitution was ratified in September 1787. So USA has been a 'common welfare' nation since at least 1787.

"This administration has taken over our health care system, given bailouts to the automotive industry, banking industry and energy industry. They support the “Occupy Wall Street” movement of increased taxing of the rich to pay for the welfare of the “less rich.” "

All of which is clearly legal, proper, and in accordance with the Constitution. Get this through your head, your side lost. Your side lost the discussion on the direction the nation is going, the Constitution and the election. The people voted for what direction they want the nation to go, and your side lost. Society should strive for very good goals of fairness and justice for all. The voters chose to continue to live in a positive, caring, and supportive society, and your ideas of greed and grief lost.

No one has turned his/her back on the Constitution. The Constitution is not compromised. Just because your side intentionally misreads the document and then makes up arguments does not mean you are right and the rest of USA is wrong.

Socialism under the Constitution, has been working quite well for the people of USA for longer than two hundred years. Working together for the benefit of the group has enable the people in USA to overcome the challenges of the past. The Constitution continues to be a strong influence in all actions of the people's governments of USA.

"... as Obama tramples (literally) the Constitution." Really?!? Can you please give a specific example of how Obama tramples (literally) the Constitution.and when?

  6. Ema,

Sure. ObamaCare's mandate that private American citizens must purchase health insurance, or pay a fine to the IRS. This is, in and of itself, unConstitutional, and is not part of, or covered by, the Commerce clause.

The power to regulate insurance markets is part of the commerce power.

Congress has the power, under the Commerce Clause, to regulate insurance, and so to mandate that insurers cover people with preexisting medical conditions. Under the Necessary and Proper Clause, it may choose any convenient means to carry out this end. The mandate is clearly helpful, and may even be absolutely necessary, to Congress’s purpose. Therefore it is constitutional.

Congress has discretion to decide the best way to exercise its authority. The list of congressional powers in Article I ends with an authorization to “make all Laws which shall be necessary and proper” to carry out its responsibilities. The interpretation of this provision was settled in 1819 by Chief Justice John Marshall in McCulloch v. Maryland.

The purpose of the health reform law is not to compel anyone to do anything, but to guarantee that those who have been sick in the past have access to health care. The mandate is a means – it has become clear by now, a very unpopular means – for accomplishing that end. Congress only used it because it had to.

    2. Ema,

Brilliant parrot routine of the leftist talking points that we all saw coming a mile away. You are a good puppet. Have yourself a Scooby snack, or maybe some of dat 'Obama Cash', HA!

Honestly, this is a clear cut case of the federal government telling you and me that we must buy something or face a penalty. Whether that something is health insurance, a gun, a pink tutu, or whatever, it remains blatantly unConstitutional.

Pardon the tackiness here, but from Wikipedia, (yeah, right?), I found this:

"The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act signed in 2010 imposes a health insurance mandate to take effect in 2014, based on the Congressional power to regulate interstate commerce, but the legislation is controversial: in 2010, a majority of states joined litigation in federal court arguing that the power to "regulate" commerce does not include an affirmative power to compel commerce by penalizing inaction; as of 2011, the several court rulings on the matter have disagreed about whether the mandate is constitutional.[4][5][6] In 1994, the Congressional Budget Office issued a report describing an individual mandate as "an unprecedented form of federal action... The government has never required people to buy any good or service as a condition of lawful residence in the United States."[7]"

What say you to this, Ema? Doesn't it seem rather obvious that our government is forcing us to purchase something or face penalties? Is this okay with you? If so, then you might be a Socialist. As for me, as a small "r" republican, I detest such impositions and mandates. It's bad enough individual states force Americans to pay for a license to carry, while our Constitution says we can carry as is our right. (But that's a topic fr another day...)

If being a part of USA society, serving as a soldier in combat, earning two purple hearts, and working for a living makes me a socialist than you are damn straight - I am Socialist. I am also a jew, christian, muslim, and atheist. In other words I am an American.

I have paid into Social Security, unemployment, and the American way of life. Our Constitutional government is us because we are our Constitutional government. The earned benefits come from being an American and a part of whole society.

"I detest such impositions and mandates." Big Funny Deal (BFD), you don't like law and order? Liberty ain't free. So pay your taxes and cry me a river.

Care to try again? We could do double-or-nothing using The Keystone Pipeline as out topic.
      Ha! :)

And don't throw down the whole, UNPROVABLE, 'I'm a Veteran' thing. I'm a Vet, too. Serving from 1986 to 2006, thank you, starting in 11B and moving on from there. I too know what it means to face combat and have walked in human blood on foreign soil.

The only earned benefits you get for being an American is the freedom to be a leftist America-hater. Oh, the irony! Ha! :)
