Newt To Throw Temper Tantrum If Debate Crowds Can't Adore Him

Newt's latest threat is akin to a petulant child holding their breath if they don't get their way.

Boo, hoo, hoo cries Newt; the debate audiences must be allowed to show their adulation for him because as we all know, he is the smartest man in the room.

It's patently absurd that the American people cannot cheer him, his Newtness believes, when he puts the smackdown on a debate host or fellow participant, like they would at a rasslin' match on Monday Night Raw.

What's next Newt, are you going to demand an intro with the house lights down and the spotlights rolling as you come out in one of "Nature Boy" Ric Flair's boa robes.

"Annndd now making his way to the podium... weighing in at 300 pounds and hailing from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania... the master of the truth, the heir to the Reagan legacy, the man solely responsible for the Republican Revolution... the silver haired, silver tongued devil himself... Neeewwwwt "Mr Speaker" Ginnnngriiiiich!!!!!!!!!!!"

Seriously folks, these are debates to determine who the GOP is going to nominate to become the next President of the United States and while the mediots who moderate these are just as culpable for turning them into gotcha sessions with a circular firing squad, a little decorum is in order.

Besides, we all know the Newtster is doing this for the publicity it will bring. After all, without his debate "performances", Newt would be wallowing at the back of the pack because when you peel away the bluster and look at his record, he is an empty suit moderate who is all sizzle and no steak.

Sadly, the GOP sheeple fall for this hoping that Mr Speaker is the second coming of the "The Great Communicator" hisself. Hate to break it to you but Ronald Reagan ain't walking through that door.

These are important times, too important for theatrics, and the Newt's fifteen minutes need to be coming to an end. We need to have a serious debate among the remaining candidates on how they are going to unseat Barry and turn this Republic back on the path that the Founders laid out for us.

We are in dire need of a great statesman not a great showman to lead us. In the end, Newt Gingrich is the latter not the former.

I really wish he would just take his ball and go home, but unfortunately that's not going to happen.

  1. Newt absolutely has to have the crowd react because that is how he knows what to say and how to say it. I'm hoping somehow or another he is taken out.

I like Mitt (I know, I know) but I'd be fine with Santorum. Newt scares the crap outta me.

  2. His political positions aside, it makes absolute sense that he would try to ensure the crowd is allowed to react during a debate. He scored big points in the previous debates, primarily by attacking the liberal media, and without crowd reaction it'll be harder for viewers to differentiate between his "bold" points and Romney's bland watered-down restatements of his malleable positions. Newt's biggest strength right now is debate performance and refusal to back off statements which infuriate liberals, and he knows it; it's a good gamble to try to ensure he can continue to capitalize on that as long as possible.

  3. Newt did not actually say he would decline from participation in the debates if the audience couldn't cheer. What he said was that the media shouldn't be telling the crowd whether or not they COULD cheer at the debates, or when. The transcript, via Legal Insurrection, is on my own blog.

  4. I'm glad someone wrote on how petty Newt is. Doesn't this just illustrate how Mr. "we need to adjust the Constitution" Gingrich is? If he doesn't like the rules and they don't benefit him, then change them.

Newsflash people: the "liberal media" is owned by six corporations which are heavily interlocked with the bailout banks, many of which are thought to make up the Federal Reserve Banking Cartel.

BTW, Fed Chairman Thompson gave the Soviet Union it's first million, Morgan lackey Thomas Lamont wired Mousilini his first million, and according to the Chairman of the Banking Committee of the 1930s, Louis McFadden, Adolf Hitler was funded by the Fed. Priorities? I say the bigger evil is the huge fount of tainted money that is pumping the guts of America overseas. But hey, let's whine about the liberal media, yeah that's the ticket!
