A Vote for Mitt Romney is a Vote for Statism, Obama-lite...

By the Left Coast Rebel

Watch this video and tell me you disagree with the headline statement of this post:

In case you want it in writing:
“The government of course has a lot of mandates, and I know folks don’t like that — mandates kids go to school, mandates they have to have auto insurance if they have an automobile. And my conservative friends say, well we don’t have to have automobiles, well what state do you live in? Of course you have to have automobiles in this nation.”

Tea Party grassroots must mandate that Mittens Romney be immediately driven into obscurity and completely disregarded as anything remotely resembling a Tea Party, limited-government conservative.

I'm sure the Soros trolls at Think Progress have this video up because it is so anathema to where the nation is philosophically at at this point.

Pathetic.

  2. LCR,

I would agree that Mitt is a squish -- but sincerely hope that most folks' fall-back position is "ABO" -- Anybody But Obama. That means if Romney wins the nomination, hopefully there won;t be a lot of hands-sitters or -- worse yet -- folks voting for Obama.

Whatever Romney's positions may be, at least he would make a competent executive. Obama is just plain clueless.

    *ducks from anticipated blowback*

  3. At this point, I'd say #45 will either be Perry or Mitt. Who can make the most credible case for smaller govt? Who is less likely to betray conservatives in congress?

I honestly don't know the answer to those questions, but Perry's record on jobs creation in TX could be decisive in GOP primaries.

  4. Unfortunately it is looking like 2012 will be a match up of Statism and Statism Light.

So much for integrity and the possibility of real meaningful change.

Choice... 1) Locomotive ride to the abyss
Choice... 2) Stagecoach ride to the abyss

Eventual destination either way... More Statism...

    Just shaking my head.

  5. I noted in another place, that the argument Romney puts forth here is the same sloppy argument we get from the trolls defending Obamacare. But what else could he say? He has to CYA if he wants to make it through the primaries.

It just doesn't speak very highly to me of his intellectual honesty. And if he really believes it, then God help us all!
