By the Left Coast Rebel
These days I would typically ignore a "scandal" cooked up by the lamestream press and some douche "writer" that camped out next door to the Palin family to find the "scoop" to make millions off an absurd book, alleging that Sarah Palin had relations with some
football NBA star named Glen Rice.
My good friend and fellow San Diego Local Order of Bloggers Leslie Eastman alerted me to this story and wanted my take on it.
So here goes... ex-boxer, convicted rapist Mike Tyson went on a Las Vegas ESPN-affiliate-station-tirade concerning the salacious Glen Rice scandal rumors swirling the lefty-media/blogosphere/lamestream media (all one and the same). What's new other than the fact that Andrew Sullivan, for once, wasn't the one saying it?
Well, the Daily Caller carried the story but did so in a fashion that truly tarnished their image and conservative journalism in general. When I read the DC piece I thought I was reading Perez Hilton or some crap.
Fox's Greta Van Susteren jumped on the story and the girl's pissed, to say the least.
She obviously has a real Tucker-Carlson-thorn in her side on this issue, drawing attention to the DC carrying the story, writing:
I keep asking myself, why would Tucker allow this to be posted on his website? I am suspicous his website is not doing well and this is one quick last breath to create buzz to keep it afloat. I wish Tucker had not allowed this to be posted on a site associated with his name because Tucker and I have been friends (and even colleagues) for years. I have always liked Tucker and I assume you can tell that when I introduce him and greet him on air.
I don’t like it when I see that my friends do disgraceful things – but we need to start calling out even our friends to stop this. Tucker has daughters and a wife and I would think he in particular would not want to be a purveyer of smut (and this is actually more, this is violence against women) and allow this to be posted on his website. There is nothing funny about violence against women and repeating what a thug (I thought – even hoped – Tyson had outgrown that) says on a radio show is also not news. I know he loves his wife and children and would never want this said or reported about them….so why is it ok to report about another? This is not news.
I'm not the biggest Palin fan in the world but for the Daily Caller to go there is beyond repore. It's one thing to report salacious news said about a republican by a celebrity -- especially Sarah Palin, a woman who has been dragged over the salacious coals more times than I can even recall.
But, it's another story in the way Daily Caller's Jeff Poor carries the piece, excerpting Tyson's vile verbiage... right down to... well, it's just not right. I sure as hell wouldn't have posted it here.
If you doubt me, just read the Palin/Tyson "wombshifter" Daily Caller article. Cached version here just in case they take it down.
Donald Douglas has a good post up for those who need a quick recap of just what the heck is going on with this story.
Dan Riehl ripped Tucker Carlson a new one and, according to Dan, got a phone call from none other than... Tucker Carlson, demanding that he take down the post.
Dan even claims he is being threatened with a lawsuit for going after the DC "wombshifter" Tyson article.
On to the next story. Like how Rick Perry is not a Tea-Party conservative.
