Oh, I get it...it matters not if we peasants want closure too and want to see photos of his rotting, bloated, grotesque corpse...we must not "offend" the sensibilities of the Muslim world (read: savages across the Middle East that hold Osama Bin Laden up as a leader) and must treat the photos of Bin Laden's body with every bit of respect that we possibly can!
WASHINGTON - Osama bin Laden was shot above his left eye and the bullet blew away part of his skull, a U.S. official says. He was also shot in the chest.
The precision kill shot was delivered by a member of the Navy's elite SEAL Team Six during a pre-dawn raid Monday on bin Laden's hideout in Pakistan.
The administration is still weighing whether to release photos of bin Laden's corpse and video of his swift burial at sea. Officials were reluctant to inflame Islamic sentiment by showing graphic images of the body. But they were also eager to address the mythology already building in Pakistan and beyond that bin Laden was somehow still alive.
Given the political correctness involved with the handling of Bin Laden's body, the campaign that killed him + DNA verification of the body + sea burial in the course of what, 8 hours?, and the suspicious rush to dispose of it at sea, (regardless, clerics are saying that his body was not handled properly) it is no wonder that many are clamoring to see photos of Bin Laden's rotting corpse and video of Bin Laden's "burial" at sea.
I think we deserve to see both of these things and nothing short of it. And don't give me the "graphic warning" line of b.s. from the White House...I think that we can handle seeing photos of his mangled corpse...it's needed for closure, plain and simple.
This website experienced the biggest traffic surge in its history due to the fact that millions of people want to see photos of Bin Laden's dead body. And because of what he did to alter the makeup of this nation -- killing thousands, those that lost their lives in war and all of us that have "given up" freedoms and must deal with the TSA and air travel as it is now -- deserve to see it in all of its grotesqueness.
And I don't give a flying you-know-what or a rolling donut if releasing the video of Bin Laden's burial at sea or the photos of Bin Laden's body offends the Muslim world; if anything we should do it because of that.
Don't forget, Bin Laden gave us this:
And the thousands of lives and pre-9-11 freedoms that we enjoyed and subsequently lost will never be gotten back...
