Newt Gingrich, "My Campaign is a Once-in-a-Century Moment"

By the Left Coast Rebel

Can this guy get any more idiotic and delusional?

From left-wing TPM:

Touring Waterloo, Iowa today, Newt Gingrich attributed part of the media frenzy surrounding his "challenging week" to his campaign's historic nature.

"It's going to take a while for the news media to realize that you're covering something that happens once or twice in a century, a genuine grass-roots campaign of very big ideas," Gingrich said, according to the Associated Press. "I expect it to take a while for it to sink in."

Yes, the immediate implosion of Newt Gingrich's campaign is "historic", I've never seen a candidate declare and then self destruct so quickly. Will it be a Gingrich self-labeled "historic" moment when he garners single digits in Iowa?

Did anyone here see/hear his appearance on Rush Limbaugh's show yesterday? Coincidentally calling in from Waterloo, Iowa (hah!), his appearance on the show was not pretty:

On Rush's show he talked too much, lied about what the controversy was about (no, I wasn't talking about Ryan's plan) and doesn't know when to just simply put a fork in it.

This whole spectacle is almost enough to make me feel sorry for the guy but it comes down to this: it's a good thing that we are weeding one of the many statist GOPers out of the race -- Newt Gingrich is no conservative and his personal baggage alone should disqualify him from serious consideration.

If you want a real hoot, read Alex Pareene at Salon, "How Gingrich can still win the GOP nomination — and the presidency" (it's obviously a satirical piece written by a libtard but showcases just how ludicrous things are in the GOP field).

Via Memeorandum, here.
