Breaking: Donald Trump Announces he won't run for Presidency

By the Left Coast Rebel

It just hit the wires, The Donald will in fact not run for the Presidency in 2012. This is precisely what we predicted here and should come as no surprise to anyone. The question now remains: will The Donald still lurk in the shadows as a potential third-party spoiler?

I highly doubt it as I think his 20 seconds of fame (and $20 million in free advertising) has run its course.

Updated: ABC News has Donald Trump's statement:

After considerable deliberation and reflection, I have decided not to pursue the office of the Presidency. This decision does not come easily or without regret; especially when my potential candidacy continues to be validated by ranking at the top of the Republican contenders in polls across the country. I maintain the strong conviction that if I were to run, I would be able to win the primary and ultimately, the general election. I have spent the past several months unofficially campaigning and recognize that running for public office cannot be done half heartedly. Ultimately, however, business is my greatest passion and I am not ready to leave the private sector.

  1. So glad to see the GOP won't be sandbagged by Trump's shenanigans. Hopefully, they'll put forth a more credible candidate in 2012 than they did in 2008.

  2. I was wrong. Put me down in the column of stupid political predictions. I was really hoping he would run.

Though, I do hope he teaches our eventual nominee - probably Mitt - that a little pizzaz and Chutzpah in politics never hurt anyone.
