Call it a sense of morbid curiosity...or a sense of righteous (and justified) indignation-driven curiosity, and the ultimate tell-tale proof that he is actually, truly dead: I want to see a photo Bin Laden's body.
Will a photo be released by the US government? Highly likely, given that Bin Laden has been the most wanted man in American history. Recall that the military released photos of Saddam Hussein's sons in 2003.
NY Daily News has this:
CNN reported that Bin Laden's body was recovered and was in Afghanistan for analysis. But sources were convinced Sunday night that the corpse is that of bin Laden. So we have the body on ice in Afghanistan...for now we can rejoice in this historic moment and be truly grateful that the bastard is
UPDATED: Who killed him? Patrick Ishmael at Hot Air has details on Bin Laden's demise:
CBS is saying that he was killed in Afghanistan. Stay tuned; Obama will speak shortly. It’s nice to think of him being gunned down by U.S. troops, though, rather than blown to bits by a missile. It’s sweet to think that some of our guys got to see the look on his face when they came through the door.Update (AP): Reuters says it was indeed U.S. special forces that did the honors. Awesome.
UPDATED X2, AP:
A small team of Americans carried out the attack and took custody of bin Laden's remains, the president said in a dramatic late-night statement at the White House.
A jubilant crowd gathered outside the White House as word spread of bin Laden's death after a global manhunt that lasted nearly a decade.
"Justice has been done," the president said.
Pretty incredible to think that Special Forces killed the guy...I live pretty close to Camp Pendleton, I can imagine that there is going to be a LOT of partying going on tonight!

UPDATED X4: Libertarian Republican has an unconfirmed picture of Bin Laden's dead body (I saw it on Facebook, too and can't confirm its authenticity). Fox News just confirmed that they have seen this picture and that it was aired on Pakistani television as well. Fox says that the picture shows a large gunwound to the top-left section of his head. The AP is confirming that this is the photo of Bin Laden, dead, taken from a Pakistani news channel:
UPDATED X5: How did they find Bin Laden? MSNBC tells the story of a courier:
Senior White House officials said early Monday that the trail that led to Osama bin Laden began before 9/11, before the terror attacks that brought bin Laden to prominence. The trail warmed up last fall, when it discovered an elaborate compound in Pakistan.
"From the time that we first recognized bin Laden as a threat, the U.S. gathered information on people in bin Laden's circle, including his personal couriers," a senior official in the Obama administration said in a background briefing from the White House.
After the terror attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, "detainees gave us information on couriers. One courier in particular had our constant attention. Detainees gave us his nom de guerre, his pseudonym, and also identified this man as one of the few couriers trusted by bin Laden."
In 2007, the U.S. learned the man's name.
In 2009, "we identified areas in Pakistan where the courier and his brother operated. They were very careful, reinforcing belief we were on the right track."
In August 2010, "we found their home in Abbottabad," in an isolated area.
"When we saw the compound, we were shocked by what we saw: an extraordinarily unique compound."
The plot of land was roughly eight times larger than the other homes in the area. It was built in 2005 on the outskirts of town, but now some other homes are nearby.
"Physical security is extraordinary: 12 to 16 foot walls, walled areas, restricted access by two security gates." The residents burn their trash, unlike their neighbors. There are no windows facing the road. One part of the compound has its own seven-foot privacy wall.
And unusual for a multi-million-dollar home: It has no telephone or Internet service.
This home, U.S. intelligence analysts concluded, was "custom built to hide someone of significance."
Besides the two brothers, the U.S. "soon learned that a third family lived there, whose size and makeup of family we believed to match those we believed would be with bin Laden. Our best information was that bin Laden was there with his youngest wife."
There was no proof, but everything seemed to fit: the security, the background of the couriers, the design of the compound.
"Our analysts looked at this from every angle. No other candidate fit the bill as well as bin Laden did," an official said.
"The bottom line of our collection and analysis was that we had high confidnece that the compound held a high-value terrorist target. There was a strong probability that it was bin Laden."
This information was shared "with no other country," an official said. "Only a very small group of people inside our own government knew of this operation in advance."
UPDATE X6: And so the conspiracy theories begin....
UPDATE X7: AP retracts Osama Bin Laden dead body photo above and White House claims to have an authentic photo(s) of Bin Laden dead and are "debating" over releasing them.
Jake Tapper at ABC:
The Obama administration has photographs of Osama bin Laden’s dead body and officials are debating what to do with them and whether they should be released to the public, officials tell ABC News.Release them. Now!
“There’s no doubt it’s him,” says a US official who has seen the pictures and also reminds us that OBL was 6’4”.
The argument for releasing them: to ensure that the public knows and can appreciate that he's dead. There is of course skepticism throughout the world that the US government claim that it killed bin Laden is true.
The argument against releasing the pictures: they’re gruesome. He has a massive head wound above his left eye where he took bullet, with brains and blood visible.

UPDATE X9: Hat-tip Bungalow Bill, Glenn Beck asks, "Why give Osama Bin Laden a dignified burial?"
Taken from today's show:
“First of all, congratulations to President Obama. He got him. Congratulations to SEAL team,” Glenn said. “I found out this morning that it was the SEALs and I wrote to Marcus [Luttrell] right away and I said God bless you guys.Beck is right.
“My problem with this is that we gave this guy a dignified burial at sea, or at least that’s what they said. I really would have put this guy in a meat grinder with a pig, sorry. Oh, you’re not going to get your 72 virgins? Sorry, that sucks to be you. Wrap him up in Hormel, pack him in a can of Spam, man,” Glenn said.
“He’s a terrorist. He’s a serial killer. He’s a mass murderer,” Glenn said.
“They gave him a dignified burial and honored the body so he could go and get his 72 virgins? I’m telling you, I would have put cans of bacon bits in every orifice of his body.”
UPDATED X10: AP: "White House: No decision on Bin Laden Photo"
WASHINGTON (AP) — The White House says it has made no decision on whether to release photographic proof that Osama bin Laden is dead.
John Brennan, President Barack Obama's counterterrorism adviser, says the administration will do everything it can to make sure no one can deny U.S. claims that the al-Qaida leader was killed during a firefight with U.S. forces in Pakistan.
But Brennan says still to be determined is whether to release a photo of bin Laden's dead body. Brennan says one concern is whether doing so could potentially jeopardize similar operations and intelligence sources in the future.
