Tom DiNapoli takes “Cookie Monster Deduction” for this year’s taxes

By Sam Foster

This one is too good to pass on. Democrat NY State Controller Tom “Cookie Monster” DiNapoli took a $14 deduction on his taxes for buying Girl Scout cookies.
New York Daily News reports:

One top state pol is claiming the cookie tax credit.

State Controller Thomas DiNapoli, the state's chief fiscal watchdog, claimed a tax deduction on $14 he gave to the Girl Scouts of Suffolk County, according to his 2010 tax return released yesterday.

DiNapoli spokeswoman Emily DeSantis said the contribution was part of a Girl Scouts program to send their famous cookies to U.S. troops overseas.

If this isn’t proof-positive that income taxes have become completely absurd, I don’t know what is!
