(PHOTO) Orange County/Marilyn Davenport Obama Ape Picture Controversy

by the Left Coast Rebel

Yesterday my buddy Samuel Gonzalez (who is a patriotic, tea party-supporting American who happens to be black) over at The Last Tradition emailed me, mentioning the Obama "Ape" picture that some idiot Orange County Republican named Marilyn Davenport has gotten into hot water regarding.

Samuel doesn't mince words or tread lightly, writing about the issue:

Oh my God! We have racism in America!

I’m so glad we have Lefty bloggers that always seem to find the racists, especially around election time. If it wasn’t for them, I may forget to think the way I’m supposed to think about Republicans.

For those of you not hip to my intended tone, I’m being extremely sarcastic here. Now I don’t know the woman who allegedly sent out this vile email depicting President Obama and his parents as apes.

There’s nothing to defend there.

However, if you think the Left is really outraged over this incident, think again. For if the story is true, it fits nice and cozy into the Leftist template of portraying all Republicans as racists. It’s part of the same playbook as blaming the rich for stealing everyone’s money. And the impact of this story will have its desired affect in the black community.

So, Liberals throughout the country, will sip wine and cheese and hang a “mission accomplished” sign over their doorways.
Yes, we have racists in the country. But the Left is only interested in particular type of racists to fill out their blogs and throw up on YouTube.

(SNIP)

...Truth be told, Liberals are every bit as racists as anyone one else because the racism they practice is the racism of low expectations and condescension of the blacks. But, they get to get away with it because many black folks are to foolishly beholden to Liberals to call it for what it is.
We believe in freedom of speech here at LCR so here is the photo that has caused the controversy:

Let's get a few things straight. Marilyn Davenport -- the Orange County Republican official that distributed the Obama ape family photo -- should be fired immediately and this issue should be denounced by mainstream GOPers and Tea Party folks, which it has.

But Samuel Gonzalez is right: the Left in all of it's most insidious serpent-like forms turns a blind eye to the hate, violence, vileness and outright racism commonly found in their ranks. They could care less about disgusting behavior when it heralds from their useful idiot counterparts but they squeal with piggish delight when they find one incident -- ONE -- that validates the template that anyone that believes in any sense of sensible, limited government is a knuckle-dragging-neanderthal, a virulent racist, and/or a hillbilly nitwit (or fill in the blank).

Don't forget that the Left ignored thousands of incidents that called for violence against former president George W. Bush. The left in the press will do their best to make you forget just how bad of a president Barack Obama is and pull out the race card as the most effective outlet to do so. It must be election time!

Also I find it ludicrous that the leftist bullsh#t scam artist rag, OC Weekly broke this story and captions the photo above using the sexual slur "tea-bagger."

I'm sure the fools at Memeorandum will call me and Samuel ever name in the book for calling them out on their pathetic ways -- bring it on!

Updated: LCR contributor Proof Positive weighs in, in the comments:

I have mentioned in another place, that I see this picture more as stupid than "racist". Obama's mother was white. Does this mean the joker who made this picture is comparing whites to chimps?

Conservatives have enough problems being branded as "racist" whenever they simply disagree with Obama's policies. They should be clever enough to steer clear of this other stuff. It's a distraction, (which will probably show up prominently featured in the next liberal fund raiser email).

  2. Ridiculous! I feel Obama has been a monkey with a pipe wrench beating on the pipes of our economy because he has no more clue than one of those chimps in the picture as how to do anything other than stir up problems... Community instigator!
So as I see it, it is okay to depict a white person as a monkey but not a black person.
This is only a racial issue if you choose to see it that way.

  3. Thanks Tim.

It's a sad affair here. I figured you'd be familar with OC Weekly. I don't know the woman in question or her history. But, people like this exist on all sides white and black, and black on white. But, the Left cherry picks the facts as if they are clean as the driven snow. I live in New York so I know how deluded these Liberal are that look as Blacks as helpless creatures that can't do anything for themselves without their help.

    That's racists thinking too!

  4. Has anybody stopped to ask whether he really does look like a chimp or not, regardless of his perceived race? If he does, he does, and the creator of the graphic has pointed out truth. If he doesn't, then the picture is just strange.

Obama's wife looks like a Ferengi, by the way. I would think she looked like a Ferengi regardless of where her ancestors were from.

I look like a somewhat slimmer mix of Uncle Fester and Curly Howard. It's not racism. It's just reality.

  8. I assume that you all are aware of the long history of suggesting that African Americans are subhuman. And have heard such epithets as "porch monkeys." And recognize that the likening of Bush to a chimpanzee, while rather stupid and unfunny, is an attempt to mock his intelligence, whereas the photo above is designed to suggest that Obama is the children of chimpanzees -- that is to say, not even human. Which should, hopefully, lead you to the recognition that the (again, unfunny) comparison of Bush to a chimpanzee IS NOT AT ALL THE SAME THING AS SUGGESTING THAT OBAMA IS DESCENDED FROM CHIMPANZEES.

  9. So, DMO, since you seem to know exactly what the photoshopper intended when he produced that picture...I'm assuming this post your admission that it was you?

  10. Marilyn Davenport should join the party of Robert Byrd. She'd feel more at home there.

  11. People like Marilyn and the other verbal gaffers in Orange County drift further from reality daily. In Costa Mesa, there's a revolt against four city councilmen. The councilmen got "a taste of Wisconsin" and decided to cut half the city workforce. One worker jumped to his death the day that he received his notice. What did the Councilmen do? Party at one of their buddy's Irish bars on St. Patrick's Day!

Demography and stupidity like this is going to come crashing down hard on the local GOP here, and they are going to flip the freak out.
