Jessie Jackson Jr. thinks iPad, not liberal policies are killing American jobs

By Sam Foster

Another way to look at the 2010 elections and the expulsion of scores of Democrat congressman; remaining Democrats are crazier than ever.

In the aftermath of the Red Tsunami, Democrats like Hank Johnson, who feared the capsizing of Guam and the left-wing Tiger, David Wu have brought craziness in congress to a whole new level. Jessie Jackson Jr. must have been feeling a little too sane for his caucus so he decided to earn his lunacy spurs with an impassioned speech about how iPads are killing American Jobs.

You'll have to go to Real Clear politics to view it; sorry no embed code. But, I transcribed some of it for you:

Now Borders is closing Stores, because why do you need to go to Borders anymore? Why do you need to go to Barnes and Noble? Buy an iPad and download your book. Download your newspaper. Download your magazine.

Chicago State University, in my congressional district, in freshman class, they are not being given text books any longer. They are all being given iPads as they enter school. President Wayne Watson, hopes to have a textbookless university in four years. Where at this state university they no longer have textbooks.

Well what becomes of publishing companies and publishing company jobs? What becomes of bookstores and librarians and all of the jobs associated with paper? Well, in the not too distant future such jobs simply will not exist.

Jackson's comments are both silly and out of touch; students are not given textbooks and they are not given iPads. They have to buy them. But, what can you expect from a socialist who thinks nothing is obtained outside of government.

Sister Toldjah points out that only a few weeks earlier, Jackson was advocating a constitutional amendment to make owning an iPad a constitutional right.

  1. Jesse Jackson Jr's daddy is still the biggest blowhard out there, especially after getting outed by Illinois' LBGT spokesman for sexual harassment.
