Hugo Chavez: Capitalism Killed Life on Mars, West Attacked Libya for Water

by the Left Coast Rebel

Ever want to know what your raving-mad Marxist college professor would look/act like in a position of unchecked, banana republic power? No, I'm not talking about our own Dear Leader Obama, even he has to abide by some semblance of checks and balances.

The raving communist academic in real life looks pretty close to Hollywood celebrity Venezuelan Communist dictator Hugo Chavez, me-thinks.

According to Chavez, capitalism killed Martians and other assorted goodies:

"I have always said, heard, that it would not be strange that there had been civilization on Mars, but maybe capitalism arrived there, imperialism arrived and finished off the planet," Chavez said in speech to mark World Water Day.
It gets better. Wait for this...drumroll...the war in Libya is motivated by oil and...water:

"Careful! Here on planet Earth where hundreds of years ago or less there were great forests, now there are deserts. Where there were rivers, there are deserts," Chavez said, sipping from a glass of water.

He added that the West's attacks on Libya were about water and oil reserves.

Indeed. There is a lot of water in Libya, I guess this isn't too far fetched:

Hell, based on the Google Map above, it looks to me like Libya is just one giant tropical rain-forest! It does border the Mediterranean Sea, too -- does that count?
