Napolitano on TSA Body Scans and Pat Downs

The slow indoctrination continues. Objectively it is fine to pat down, or subject travelers to full body scans, according to Janet Napolitano of Homeland Security. Soon we will witness the same on every form of public transportation. It is only a matter of time. From The Hill this Sunday morning.

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said Sunday that controversial new airport security procedures are likely to remain in place since they have been effective.

Some airline passengers and lawmakers have objected to the new Transportation Security Administration (TSA) policy, which includes full-body scans and pat-downs.

Asked on CNN's "State of the Union" if anything is going to change with the pat-down program, Napolitano said, "Not for the foreseeable future."

The secretary called the procedures "objectively safer" for airline passengers and said they are part of a broader security strategy that involves cooperation with intelligence agencies, commercial airlines and international airports.

Napolitano is of course singing the song of bureaucrats everywhere. Just a bit of intrusive government policy to.... insure the safety of the individual and general public. Of course a cursory understanding of government and the power it holds leads us to realize government and its power never seems to shrink. What shrinks is our liberties.

I am reminded of Benjamin Franklin who said: "Any society that would give up a little liberty to gain a little security will deserve neither and lose both." He was right when he made the statement and objectively his words remain true today.

  1. I hope one of the first things the new Republican congress does, is start fighting the facisim infecting our country. If not, I very much fear it will take a war to eradicate the evil.

  2. Too many morons think they're actually SAFER with this stupid and intrusic procedure even though TSA in its entire history has yet to STOP ONE TERRORIST ATTACK! All the so called foiled attempts have been by other agencies. The closest the TSA ever came to stopping one was on 9-11 when one screener thought Muhammod Atta and one of his goons was acting too weird, but the LAWYERS said no it was a violation of their civil rights as visa holders (which was false by the way) and the rest is history. These procedures aren't effective as now even Muslim women can by pass they with a stupid and worthless head only search. They're only effective on the people that aren't a threat.

Next is on all transportation system, heck, I wouldn't be surprise it hits schools even as kids are used as suicide bombers or perhaps our cars at all major entrances. The lust for power of this administration is limitless. Yet the leftist fools, the ones that claim they're for liberty for all, including illegals, are the ones enbracing their sexual harassment by the government.
