Please Let Us Drown!

Is it time for some tough love in the Golden State? At least one Californian, our friend at Lilac Sunday, says yes:

Watching the Big Red Wave roll across the nation on November 2 was like watching a New Years Eve Party through a window. I am happy for you all, I really am, but California just voted itself into a nuclear winter.

In an act of collective amnesia, Jerry Moonbeam Brown was given a third term as Governor. San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom was elected Lieutenant Governor, Senator Boxer was given 6 more years to insult the military, and state and Congressional Democratic incumbents were overwhelmingly re-elected.
The bad news gets considerably worse:
In October, after missing the state's Constitutional budgetary deadline by 100 days, Sacramento passed a budget that is already $6 billion in the hole, and the budget for fiscal year 2011-2012 is already projected to be $19 billion in the hole.

California is going to request a federal bailout, but California needs an infusion of cash like a junkie needs the needle.
Is the day of reckoning near?
Professor Jacobson at Legal Insurrection has warned you not to approach drowning Democrats. What I am asking you, for the good of the state and of the nation, is to please let California drown.
Can we afford not to let California drown? We're printing money (QE2), and we're running out of Chinese Renminbi.

  1. Vermont did the same thing. It is a 100 million in the hole for a state of 600,000 people. The Senate pro tem fraud responsible for that debt got elected governor. It is a two year term, but by then he wants a state funded single payer like MassCare (6 Billion in the hole after 5 years).

    The scum got re-elected or moved up the ladder of power by catering to the public sector unions, (The largest employers is the state) and talking about spending money we do not have on a openly neo-Marxist agenda.

    The People do not want to be saved. Especially from themselves. Any action taken on their behalf will fail without popular consent.

    After seeing the ignorance and sloth, the craven council and selfish hearts of the majority of fools around me, I have come to the same conclusion the Joker did about the "people" around "us" in The Dark Knight;

    "Don't talk like one of them. You're not! Even if you'd like to be. To them, you're just a freak, like me! They need you right now, but when they don't, they'll cast you out, like a leper! You see, their morals, their code, it's a bad joke. Dropped at the first sign of trouble. They're only as good as the world allows them to be. I'll show you. When the chips are down, these... these civilized people, they'll eat each other. See, I'm not a monster. I'm just ahead of the curve."

    I will always help and educate those willing to better themselves. But I cannot, and will not any longer go to bat for those who prefer to be slaves. I will look to the security of my family, and my fellow patriots first and fore most, as there at least the slow match of liberty and understanding of freedom still burns. I also realize that unless societal group think changes, that the keepers of the flame will slowly be crushed under the weight of the lazy, the stupid, the evil, the predatory. I will protest in every way to prevent taking one dollar from the Feds to solve our problem. I will recommend that the personal assets of those politicians be seized to pay for their greed instead. It may be legal under Vermont's Constitution.

    To those who prefer debt slavery to liberal pap I say;

    Ut sementem feceris ita metes

  2. Like in California, those of us here in Washington State also watched with frustration as the red wave hit the rest of the country, but was stopped here at the Cascade Mountains.

    Like a drug addict, sometimes the best thing to do is to let a person, or in this case a state, hit rock bottom. This may be the only way to show these politicians, and those who support them, the errors of their ways.

  3. Please God, let California sink into the Pacific Ocean for the sake of the entire country, but please get me, and those like me, out of here first.

  4. The left coast needs to look at Greece! That is your future!!!
