Good News: Nancy Pelosi Considering Minority Leader Position

You would think that the leader of a representative body that just suffered it's worse loss (in sheer numbers) since 1948 would retire into the shadows and, in the least, not be heard from for some time.

Not for Nancy. Apparently she is considering staying-on as the Democrat minority leader in the House and that's a good thing. I can't think of a more effective face to scapegoat for the upcoming 2012 rout:

(ABC, Memeo) High-level Democratic sources in the House tell ABC News Pelosi is seriously considering staying in Congress and running for the position of minority leader.

Pelosi is methodically calling every Democratic House member who won on Tuesday, as well as many who lost, sources tell ABC News. In the process, she is weighing her options and gauging her support.

Some of Pelosi's closest allies are encouraging her to stay and to lead the Democratic effort to win back their majority. Those encouraging her are arguing, in part, that she can unify the progressives in the caucus, and more importantly, that nobody in the House can raise money for the next campaign better than Pelosi.

Sheer lunacy! NancyNasty Pelosi is one of the biggest reasons that Democrats got the 'shellacking' of the century on Tuesday. I can't imagine her face put on the 'new' Democrat party in search of majority status. I am reminded of a timeless verse.

Proverbs 26:11:

As a dog returneth to his vomit, so a fool returneth to his folly.

Updated: From the Belly of the Beast of the neo-communist left:

Democrats suffered serious losses on Tuesday, but no one was hit harder than the corporatist Blue Dogs. Over half their members are gone. Apparently, being the GOP's best friends on issue after issue wasn't the political winner they claimed it was.

But getting drubbed hasn't made the Blue Dogs humble. Now, they have Nancy Pelosi in their sights, demanding she step down as Democratic leader in the House. The Blue Dogs want to replace her with one of their own, so they can deliver our entire party to Wall Street.

Don't let the Blue Dogs take over. Sign the petition letting Nancy Pelosi know she has your support as Democratic leader in the House.

Pelosi will decide whether to run for House Minority Leader within the next week, so she needs to hear from her supporters ASAP. At Daily Kos, we will deliver your signatures to her personally, so she knows you've got her back.

Pelosi led Democrats to historic victories in 2006 and 2008. We are confident she can reclaim her gavel in 2012. But to do so, she first has to ward off the Blue Dog threat.

Sign the petition showing your support for Nancy Pelosi. The fight for 2012 begins NOW.

Friggin' Blue Dogs,
Chris Bowers

Interesting, I can't wait to see the fight. Anyone want to buy tickets for the event?

  1. I can't see Pelosi winning here, not after getting so many congressmen fired. We are going to see Steny Hoyer emerge and the battle between the two is going to be beautiful to watch.

  2. I earnestly hope Markos Moulitsas gets MILLIONS of signatures on his petition. hehehehehe

  3. As they say here in Germany.. "Das ist der hammer!"
or maybe "Hammer Fresser"! would be more fitting... (eater of the hammer)
But my bigger concern is thatwew are not the dogs returning to the "RNC" vomit...

  4. Democrats feeding on themselves. This could be an amusing two years.
