Top Ten Candidates to Donate to

by the Left Coast Rebel

Professor Jacobson over at Legal Insurrection has a great list up from Sunday on his 'doubling-down' effort for his top 10 list for donations. Here is the criteria:

On October 20, I published my Top 10 List for donations (not necessarily the 10 most important races), based on the following criteria: Must be current Democratic seat; must be toss-up or possibility of an upset of a big name Democrat; and must not be nationalized so that fundraising could help more than in some other races.

Here is his list:
  1. John Raese (Senate, West Virginia)(open seat, formerly Robert Byrd)
  2. Dino Rossi (Senate, Washington)(v. Patty Murray, incumbent)
  3. Todd Young (IN-9)(v. Baron Hill, incumbent)
  4. Van Tran (CA-47)(v. Loretta Sanchez, incumbent)
  5. Allen West (FL-22)(v. Ron Klein, incumbent)
  6. Jeff Perry (MA-10)(open seat, formerly Bill Delahunt)
  7. George Phillips (NY-22)(v. Maurice Hinchey, incumbent)
  8. Richard Hanna (NY-24)(v. Michael Arcuri, incumbent)
  9. John Loughlin (RI-1)(open seat, formerly Patrick Kennedy)
  10. Sean Beilat (MA-4)(v. Barney Frank, incumbent)
Who would you add to this list? I can think of a few myself, although they differ a bit from Jacobson's criteria, click the candidate's name to donate:
  1. Nick Popaditch (CA-51, awesome life story)
  2. Rand Paul (need I say more, Rand must win)
  3. Joe Miller (Alaskans stand up!)
  4. Christine O'Donnell (goes without saying)
  5. Star Parker (CA-37, awesome candidate)
Add a candidate in the comment thread! Discussion at Memeorandum, here, here.

Updated: Reader Pedaling adds a Utah candidate:

I agree with Dick Morris in saying Morgan Philpot of Utah!....I think he meets your criteria.
He is running against incumbent Jim Matheson who has slipped under the radar, far too long.
Most recently, he was the deciding vote in allowing Nancy Pelosi to adjourn instead of voting on extending the Bush tax cuts and a proposed budget.
Philpot is a fiscal conservative who holds fast to the constitution. He believes in state rights and less government.
Donate to Morgan Philpot here.

  1. Does anyone have any poll numbers for West? I heard he was ahead, but I haven't been able to find any numbers.

  3. West is up by 3. I don't think he should be on this list because he has outraised his opponent is doing ok financially. He was given a great deal of support early. The West election is going to come down to turnout as the district is pretty evenly split with a slight advantage to the dems. If Klein can get out the vote, he more than likely will win. I don't see that happening in this envirnoment. West has all the energy.

I have two local congressman that may actually win. One is Patrick Murray going against sitting congressman of 20 years. He recently just dissed Murray's 24 years of military service as unimportant. Murray served in Iraq. Moran also blamed the Jews for the war. The local dems here don't even like him, but would rather cut off a body part than vote for a republican, so he just keeps on winning. He believes he can't lose, so he just does whatever he wants. It is long since time for him to go.

Lollar is running against Steny Hoyer in Maryland. Another district that is rigged to keep republicans making any gains. Hoyer actually has to campaign this year; something that he is not used to. He normally gives all the money he raised to other candidates and doesn't even bother to do anything in his own district. Another arrogant man who thinks he can do whatever he wants and there will be no consquences. Time for him to go as well.

  4. I qould like to chime in with another pick. As a fellow scientist, I recommend donating to Ruth McClung in Arizona’s 7th Congressional District. This conservative Republican with a physics degree and grass-roots momentum has been working non-stop to defeat open-borders zealot Raul Grijalva — the entrenched Democrat who spearheaded a boycott of his own constituents over SB1070.

  5. A PS To my note above; her district is the one involved in the union-based Mi Familia vote fraud scandal.

  6. I'd like to second Charles Lollar. I have family who knew him in Georgia who say he is awesome. I just wish they'd have told me about him sooner, so we could have gotten the word out earlier!
