Tea Party Jitters and Rand Paul in New York City

Spencer Wilkins in the New York Press puts forth a great writeup on the Tea Party movement in New York city specifically and in doing so creates a must read. It's all about Rand Paul, true-conservative principals and a resurgent liberty movement:

In order to explain how a politician like Rand Paul has been nurtured in hotboxes like these and flourished, to be placed on the ballot—in a dead heat to become Senator, according to a recent Public Policy Polling survey—one should consider the emergence of the Tea Party movement and how this libertarian-conservative protest blob has taken shape and adapted to places like New York City.

As the world grows more complex, interdependent, and intertwined, -and China builds a blue-water navy, Iran nukes, and Russia pushes out their sphere of influence- Rand Paul's isolationism is a sure way to get our oil cut off, trade routes truncated, our allies destroyed, and have enemies move right on up to our borders.

As for terrorism, George W Bush, Dick Cheney, and Donald Rumsfeld were right in destroying the terrorists and their sponsors wherever they are... the Pauls of the world basically are taking Clinton's approach towards Al Qaida- why not worked out great last time, huh?

This guy is a dangerous fool... and needs a haircut. I'm sure the Left is cock-a-hoop, though... a big block of dreamy Libertarians working on legalizing weed is the next best thing to a third-party, and is about the only thing that could keep the Left setting the agenda in this country.

The Pauls are right-on on fiscal policy... trouble is, we won't have anything left for them to manage once our myriad enemies run circles around us.

These fools think like Obama, in that Muslims hate us because of something we did wrong... a view I despise, because it's not just wrong, but very, very dangerous in that it provides a handy excuse to not fight an enemy that's already at our throat.

Palin's endorsement is the ONLY major red-mark against her in my book... imo driven by politics and her distaste for Paul's opponent. That said, I wish she hadn't done it- I took her donation button off my site the day she did, and will keep my options open for 2012 endorsements.
