Tyranny... Could It Happen Here?

Many of us on the thoughtful conservative side have been saying for some time that Barrack Hussein Obama is essentially a statist. One who has the capacity and will to set our country even more firmly on the road to a Leviathan and tyrannical government.

President Obama, true to his "Hope and Change" vision has set the course to fundamentally chge the way American government functions. He has been attempting to consolidate more power in the federal government and increase its control over the private and business sector.

His huge scale federal federal bailout legislation, the take over of GM, the massive health insurance reform legislation, the BP shakedown, the increasing the size of the executive branch and appointment of czars accountable to no one a but a few examples.

George W. Bush was guilty of a large scale expansion in the role the fed played in our lives. But BHO will make GWB look like a minnow alongside a shark. The door was thrown open and the way paved for the ultimate progressive collectivist to take the helm.

Thomas Sowell, a conservative many have great respect for as do I had the following to say about the current occupant of the White House.

The president's poll numbers are going down because increasing numbers of people disagree with particular policies of his, but the damage being done to the fundamental structure of this nation goes far beyond particular counterproductive policies.

Just where in the Constitution of the United States does it say that a president has the authority to extract vast sums of money from a private enterprise and distribute it as he sees fit to whomever he deems worthy of compensation? Nowhere.

The man appointed by President Obama to dispense BP's money as the administration sees fit, to whomever it sees fit, is only the latest in a long line of presidentially appointed "czars" controlling different parts of the economy, without even having to be confirmed by the Senate, as Cabinet members are.

We are living in uncertain times, and the thought of Barrack Hussein Obama steering the ship of state is a frightening one. This man has it in his power to change the very make up of American society and its principals unless We The People prevent him from doing so. The ballot box will be as important in 2010 and 2012 as it ever has been.

  1. Any time conservatives use the President's middle name, it is pretty obvious they are trying to brand him as some kind of "other." This, of course, is to induce racism and fear. How many times did this "Rebel" dude use Bush's middle name? Um never is my guess. Indeed, what IS GWB's middle name?

On the non racist aspects of this post, almost all Presidents have used their powers to take over companies and to urge them to compensate victims of their actions. Bush used his power to start two undeclared wars, one against a country that did not attack us and to allow torture in secret prisons. He also used his power to reduce American citizens freedom of speech by allowing warrantless wiretaps and restriction of habeus corpus.

My guess is the "Rebel" did not object to that use of Presidential power.

  2. Lalo - If you actually read the article, you would have noted that Les Carpenter of Rational Nation authored it.

Also, the use of 'Hussein' is hardly racist, it's his name.

Finally, Les Carpenter and I were as critical of Bush's bad policies as we are of Obama. Your 'conservatives looked the other way under Bush' doesn't apply here.

Hope you can see past the Daily Kos talking points one day.....

  3. >trying to brand him as some kind of "other."

Chairman BaO is most certainly "some kind of 'other.'" He is against liberty, honesty, reason, and everything that the Founding Fathers established. He is an incompetent numbskull who has romanticized "revolution" and is pushing forward an agenda that has always destroyed every nation that has implemented it, whether Nazi Germany or the Soviet Union. Yes, we are most definitely attempting to marginalize him, for the simple reason that he is our enemy.

    >what IS GWB's middle name?

Walker, of course. Are you from Iceland or something?
