James Dobson Endorses Rand Paul, Retracts Trey Grayson Nod - Blames Republican Party Hierarchy for Misleading Him

by the Left Coast Rebel

Interesting stuff! Wes Messamore at the Humble Libertarian writes:
To Kentucky's Secretary of State, Trey Grayson it must seem like absolutely nothing can stop U.S. Senate hopeful, Rand Paul in his bid for the Republican Party's nomination. Absolutely nothing.

Hoping to make capital of Rand Paul's relationship to his father, U.S. Congressman and 2008 Presidential hopeful Ron Paul, Grayson's attempt to paint Rand as somehow "not conservative enough" has been frustrated at every turn.

Dr. Rand Paul, a Bowling Green, Kentucky physician has managed to rack up an impressive list of endorsements from conservative icons like Sarah Palin, Steve Forbes, and the very Senator whose open seat is up for grabs in Kentucky this November- Republican Jim Bunning (arguably one of the U.S. Senate's most conservative members).
Be sure to read the rest. James Dobson, formerly of Focus on the Family fame had this to say:

Carl Wicklander writes at Uncouth Ruminations:

Update 5/3/2010: According to Politico, James Dobson has reneged his endorsement of Grayson in favor of Rand Paul. It is encouraging to see Dobson change his mind, but take note of his explanation for his initial endorsement of Grayson. Dobson may have inadvertantly revealed Grayson's whole campaign strategy by saying that it wasn't so much an endorsement for Trey Grayson as much as it was an endorsement against Rand Paul.
The 'explanation' that Carl Wicklander notes is the obfuscation and misinformation coming from the Republican party power structured, aimed at distorting Rand Paul's conservative, limited government credentials.

Talk about an interesting story. I guess in the Republican party, you can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time.

Recall that the GOP 'lost it's way' due to many in the party blindly going along with the prolifigate spending of George W. Bush and the Republican congress. Leaders like Rand Paul, a tax-fighting activist since way-back-when; will right the fiscal ship of the nation and perhaps of the GOP.

This nation needs Goldwater leadership. Rand Paul - 2010.

"This nation needs Goldwater leadership."

You can certainly say that again! If Rand Paul is a "chip off the old block", and anything like Barry Goldwater we certainly need him in the U.S Senate.

If he does half the good his father has, we will all be better off.
