"24" Series Finale

The series finale of "24" is a hot trending topic. Adrian Scott writes at Jack Liberty:
Tonight, at 8:00 EST/7:00 CST, the real-time thriller, “24″ — the longest espionage-themed show ever — goes out in a blaze of glory with one final countdown.

It seems that wherever you look, “24″ can’t be mentioned without bringing up politics. Even from the start, critics remarked its premiere 2 months after 9/11 as very close timing. Over the years, various beltway insiders made an example of the series as a positive conservative presence on television. Prominent fans included former Vice President Dick Cheney, Rush Limbaugh, and even Justice Antonin Scalia.

Yet those who regarded “24″ as anything but a live-action comic book were clearly missing the point. The show was never one-sided and never forced its politics on its audience, unlike like “The West Wing”. The writers were always a mix of progressives, conservatives, and yes, even some libertarian-leaning independents. Who could seriously argue that the events in the show served any other purpose besides suspense?

  1. First, that is a kick a$$ pic! I have been a fan of "24" since the series began and it so sad to see the series ending. I am going to repost the pic and videos with a linkback.

  2. I know I'm not going out on a limb but I do not see an elegant way out of this for Jack.

I was late to the game, but I enjoyed every minute of the last 3 seasons.

  3. I just finished watching the series finale and Jack didn't have a bad out, or a good out. Hopefully, we'll see what happens to him in the next 24 movie.

  4. I will miss 24, and look forward to the movie. I'll miss Chloe's frown, loyalty and resolve. 24 was just about the only thing on television for conservatives to cheer for.
