The next stop for the Left Coast Rebel concerning Pentagon shooter John Patrick Bedell is John Patrick Bedell's (JPatrickBedell) Facebook page:

I don't have access or visibility to Bedell's profile or friends. What I do have though is a list of the friends that his profile is linked to. Right off the bat I see several middle eastern sounding names many students. A large number of Bedell's friends seem to be of Indian descent - not surprising considering John Bedell's tech/science background. I even see actress Mary Bradley on here as well.

I found friends of Bedell were linked to several gay rights activist groups along with PETA, NPR, various drug legalization organizations, Greenpeace, Al Franken and a whole bunch of other stuff.

Interesting that some friends of John Patrick Bedell are obviously on the left wing side of the political spectrum.

Here's something juicy. John Patrick Bedell is (was) friends with a certain individual linked to TrineDay Publishing (conspiracy), First World, Michael Moore, the Coalition on Political Assassinations (why?) and CLG (check out the Facebook group that resists corporaterrorism, and the New World Order). John Patrick Bedell was also Facebook friends with noted libertarian/anti war guy Lew Rockwell (as are 5,000 other people), which doesn't surprise me being that Lew Rockwell is one of the most noted antiwar spokesmen in the country. From what I have gleaned I can see that Bedell clearly had an anti-government bent. I don't see it as a left/right anti government bent, I see it as a fringe blend of tortured ideas.

As with Joe Stack though, the template does not fit what the press is going to/trying to push. I see a clear fringe/tortured mind template, Bedell's friends are communists, conspiracy theorists, drug legalization proponents from left and right and a few libertarians that match his anti-war ethic.

How is it that someone that purports to be a 'peace activist' takes to such violent ideologies and even takes violent actions himself? I find that ludicrous and telling for just who John Patrick Bedell was. I am glad that he was the only casualty of the Pentagon shooting.

Bedell was a nutball as Malkin calls him who doesn't even come close to fitting the template of tea party activists, limited government proponents, GOP grassroots activists building the party back from the ground up, conservatives and mainstream libertarians. Don't let the vile miscreants in the blogosphere and press do their best to pin this guy on the resurgent conservative movement.

    to discredit the antiwar movement as described in the U.S. Special Forces Counter Insurgency handbook. The most dangerous people are those who oppose U.S. policies and openly embrace a policy of non violence. The handbook goes on to describe how to infiltrate them and make them violent, or to create groups out of thin air that LOOK like the peaceful groups. This is done to discredit ala Operation Gladio run by NATO.

  5. Every one of Bedell's photos makes my gaydar go ding like the bells of St. Mary's. We're going to learn quite a lot more about this fellow as the days go by.

    Yes, he was right-wing, without doubt; but he was being driven left by a medical condition warranting prescription marijuana (check the latest news) and by his orientation. The right-wing pool ain't that welcoming to friends of Dorothy as we all know. Without doubt this kid was gay. We'll find that out.

  6. I agree with anonymous. I looked at his photos on CNN and thought to myself he looks gay to me. I've seen thousands of gays in my life, I know the look well. That's what brought me here and now that I've heard what was on his FB page I believe it more. AND yes there is a certain "look" that I'm real good at picking up on although there are some gay men that do not have that look, this man does.
