Hypocrisy: media backlash when the right acts like the left

Who is the media trying to fool? The Politico has an article regarding how tea party protesters are taking their protests to their elected official’s home. No surprise, the media depicts this as something scary and bad.

And angry voters are planning to protest this weekend at the home of Steve Driehaus — who’s already seen a photograph of his children used in a newspaper ad published by reform opponents.

The vitriolic health care debate has become personal — too personal, say House Democrats who voted for the bill and now find not just themselves but their families in the cross hairs of opponents.

I suppose when you aren’t doing your job and ignore constituents, facing your boss can be a scary thing. So far there has only been isolated incidents, nothing in comparison to the organization and magnitude of the left in Denver or Connecticut. The left even has activists they like to call “bank terrorists.”

However, I fail to see how the developments are any different than the left, except the left was given a pass by the media. Actually, President Obama egged on this type of behavior and told a room full of bank CEO’s:

My administration is the only thing between you and the pitchforks," the president told them.

The language of Obama's threat indicates that he was in control of the protesting mob. Funny how the media template changes when the shoe is on the other foot. What did you expect?
