Shocking Liberal Hypocrisy: the New York Times Defends Family Guy's Portrayal of Sarah Palin's Child Trig Palin (Again)

by the Left Coast Rebel

Again, as was the case yesterday at the Left Coast Rebel - the New York Times tackles the issue of Sarah Palin's son Trig Palin portrayed in the Fox show "Family Guy". And once again, the New York Times (via David Itzkof) wants readers to walk away thinking, 'what's the big deal about the "Family Guy" (or entertainment, or liberals, blah, blah) making fun of Trig Palin's down syndrome' because someone that also has down syndrome (and voiced Trig Palin on the "Family Guy") thinks it's not a big deal'.

Frankly, can someone just fill me into the psychotic reasoning of the liberal mind at the NYT, the reasoning that this kind of thing adds up? And to imagine the New York Times treating a situation like this if the target was a leftist, environmentalist, communist, socialist, transgendered Democrat, terrorist - you name the individual, group or group indentity.

The money shot, (Ms. Friedman is the voice of Trig Palin on "Family Guy") as it were from today's New York Times piece:

Ms. Friedman continued, “My mother did not carry me around under her arm like a loaf of French bread the way former Governor Palin carries her son Trig around looking for sympathy and votes.”

In a telephone interview on Thursday, Ms. Friedman, who has also appeared in television shows like “Life Goes On” and “Saving Grace,” said she was perplexed by Ms. Palin’s criticism.

“I’m like, ‘I’m not Trig. This is my life,’ ” Ms. Friedman said. “I was making fun of Sarah Palin, but not her son.”

Ah-hah, all roads lead to an inevitable conclusion with the New York Times. In their glee to disparage Sarah Palin they get greedy. Can't you just see it? These liberal-statist-socialist types at the New York Times sitting in a smoke filled room, chatting, 'hey, did you know that the actor that played Palin's retarded son (we know libs use this word, per Rahm Emanuel) on the "Family Guy" is a progressive with down syndrome and hates Palins guts...oooh let's run with this.'
