Sarah Palin is making a buzz today with her Facebook statement that Rahm Emanuel should be fired. PoliticalWire is referencing a particular statement from Rahm Emanuel where he called Senate Democrat Liberals as "f@#king retarded." She is calling out Rahm and asking Obama to fire him for his reference of 'retarded' and linking that to an attitude against handicapped children.
I would ask the president to show decency in this process by eliminating one member of that inner circle, Mr. Rahm Emanuel, and not allow Rahm’s continued indecent tactics to cloud efforts. Yes, Rahm is known for his caustic, crude references about those with whom he disagrees, but his recent tirade against participants in a strategy session was such a strong slap in many American faces that our president is doing himself a disservice by seeming to condone Rahm’s recent sick and offensive tactic.Now I can understand Palin's point here although the politically correct tone make me feel a bit queasy. I don't like it when I see conservatives use the thought/speech police tactics of the left. I do know, however, that such tactics work. Most Americans can't grasp the details behind policy debate and instantly gravitate to controversy, whether it is the word 'retarded' being used or 'negro dialect' from Harry Reid. I think that Rahm Emanuel should be fired but not because he made a 'retarded' comment, but because he is a Chicago thug. But then without 'gotcha politics' being involved ever single member of Obama's inner circle should be fired and baned from public service as well. Why can't we defeat them because they are trying to destroy this country from the inside?
Just as we’d be appalled if any public figure of Rahm’s stature ever used the “N-word” or other such inappropriate language, Rahm’s slur on all God’s children with cognitive and developmental disabilities – and the people who love them – is unacceptable, and it’s heartbreaking.

Think of it less as "PC police" than as Alinksy's Rule 4: "Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules." If it's so important to libs that they be morally superior to conservatives, call them on everything.
I can think of plenty of other reasons to can this a**hole, but if her's works, I'm fine with that...
She might be doing practicing "gotcha" politics here, but don't forget that her child has down syndrome.
Palin's son has down syndrome, but he is not retarded. I think some times this word, "retarded" gets confused because it was used back in the day when people didn't really understand these developmental challenges. I understand why Palin would be offended. However, "retarded" is too nice of a word for SOME politicians who are behaving the way they are these days.
