I liked it, I loved it, I caught the folksy charm and the appeal of Sarah Palin in her speech to Tea Party folks at the National Tea Party Convention in Tennessee tonight. I caught several policy specifics, I caught a distinct alternative to statism and Obama/Pelosi/Reid. I heard things that the average American can grasp, 'cling' to, hold onto hope for. Watch the entire video 5 part series here.
In true Palin style she sounded patriotic and religious. In a tone that progressive statists like Obama would run from she sounded proud to be an American. She thanked God for the Tea Party people and chastised Washington DC for the bankrupting 'generational theft' and bloated (non) transparent bureaucracy. She wished Ronald Wilson Reagan a happy 99th birthday and alluded to the fact that, although he has passed, his ideas and passions for America (and what we believe) have not. She spoke to the 'shining city on a hill' that I alluded to earlier today as well.
And boy did she throw it back at the Obama team for their lack of focus, coherency, vision and strength in regard to the worldwide cancer of radical islamic jihadism. She ripped the Obamanation for cozying up to dictators all-too cozyly, for apologizing for this country instead of defending Her and for the unprecedented, unilateral boondoggle of the Christmas day panty bomber. Did I miss anything? Not presidential-aspiration material?
A fascinating evening, I am glad that I had the chance to watch her speech.
