The recent attack against Roy Blunt's Senate campaign comes from James Sander and VoteVet.org. The commercial lists Sander's residence as Columbia, Missouri, but Sander is only a recent transplant to Missouri. This is important to know because he attacks Roy Blunt for not supporting the Clean Energy Act, also known as Cap and Trade. Cap and Trade would be a jobs killer for Missouri, which Blunt is trying to prevent.
Sander recently moved to Missouri as recently as August 2009 according to his profile on Linked In. His Linked In profile shows he was working for a North Dakota state senate candidate and member of Organzing for America , Allan Branstiter III.
In July 2009, he left his job at MS Dynamics as a customer service representative to finish his doctorate degree at the University of Missouri in Columbia. So it's possible Sander wasn't even in Missouri when Blunt cast his vote against Cap and Trade. Now he's on television telling Missourians how wrong the vote was for Missourians.
I am not trying to take away Sander's right to free speech. He can support and speak up for and against anyone he wants. However, considering his light resume, I would consider the small amount of time Sander's has spent in Missouri, his connections with the Obama administration, and his sudden interest in a vote from a representative outside of his district in a state he may not have even lived in.
Sander says in the commercial, "when a terrorist attacked America on Christmas day, I was reminded why I am willing to risk my life for America..." Sander has been to the Middle East, but his service resume doesn't show he's been to Iraq. Like I was, he is a part-time soldier serving in the reserves. Sander's Linked In profile doesn't put him in a tank, the infantry, or even in a combat medic unit like I was in. Sander risked his life in the 395th Finance Battalion ,Camp Arifjan, Kuwait pushing paper. Kuwait is not Iraq and finance is not bombs falling on and bullets flying at you.
