Earlier today I had a hunch about something. It was something that I thought noone else was going to pick up on.
That Joseph Kennedy, the 3rd in the Mass Senate race and a Libertarian, could actually bleed off votes from the Democrat Martha Coakley.
Here's why. Think about it. A lot of those among us don't follow politics at all, urban areas especially. Think about the typical entitlement voter in a place like Massachusetts - or any population-dense area for that matter. Clearly they will pull the lever for the candidate (if/when they vote) that promises goodies from the public trough. Clearly they do not know much about politics beyond just that. You know I'm right.
So think about it. Joseph Kennedy on the ballot on Tuesday, January 19 in Mass. How many voters do you think will vote for a Kennedy even though the Kennedy in play has nothing to do with the Democrat dynastic family? I think it could be substantial. Kennedy (the libertarian), is clearly onto this. "I'm not going to be delusional, there will be hard core Kennedy voters who pull the wrong lever," said libertarian Kennedy.
We'll see how it all adds up....

ahhhh, do i hear someone implying that there will be another 2000 election once again where people will complain of being mislead if Coakley loses? lol
That is very insightful analysis. That had never really occurred to me. In light of that, I still figure the Libertard Party candidate will draw an equal amount of votes from the republican side simply due to the obvious. If I'm right, Kennedy equals a net zero in the race. A good thing in my book.
