"Ellie Light's" Letters to the Editor Showing up All Over the U.S.: I Smell a (Plouffe, Organizing for America) Rat

by the Left Coast Rebel

This story is interesting, I just caught it from Memeoranum in Cleveland.com. It seems that an Obama-fan has been making the rounds, around the country, expressing support for Obama and claiming residence in each newspaper district that she writes a letter to the editor. I wonder how many times this is taking place across the country? I smell a rat. Listen to these tidbits of what she has written:

“It’s time for Americans to realize that governing is hard work, and that a president can’t just wave a magic wand and fix everything,” said a letter from alleged Philadelphian Ellie Light, that was published in the Jan. 19 edition of The Philadelphia Daily News.

A letter from Light in the Jan. 20 edition of the San Francisco Examiner concluded with an identical sentence, but with an address for Light all the way across the country in Daly City, California.

Variations of Light’s letter ran in Ohio’s Mansfield News Journal on Jan. 13, with Light claiming an address in Mansfield; in New Mexico’s Ruidoso News on Jan. 12, claiming an address in Three Rivers; in South Carolina’s The Sun News on Jan. 18, claiming an address in Myrtle Beach; and in the Daily News Leader of Staunton, Virginia on Jan. 15, claiming an address in Waynesboro. Her publications list includes other papers in Ohio, West Virginia, Maine, Michigan, Iowa, Pennsylvania and California, all claiming separate addresses.

Apparently the gig wasn't up for this certain 'Ellie Light' until the the reporter from Cleveland.com thought something was fishy and tried to dig up information on this 'Ellie Light' individual. Too bad noone else in the press has the integrity or sense to Google someone's name (or cares since The One is being defended).

I assume that 'Ellie Light' is just another David Plouffe 'Organizing for America' troll. I have been frequented by these types and I delete their comments, they are easy to spot and similiar to the 'seminar callers' that you hear about on conservative am talk shows. Go here for Reaganite's excellent post on the Plouffe/Organizing for America Orwellian mind control antics (that helped elect the Obamanation). I'm sure that the Obama administration has a hand in the 'Ellie Lights' of today as well - it's even possible that they are paid by the White House.

This story proves to me (again) the incompetence of the nation's dying press outlets, especially print media. These folks are simply too corrupt, ideological and lazy to do even pull off a modicum of the heavy lifting that traditional American media used to do. It is a shame that Americans have to turn to alternative media like the Left Coast Rebel for information and analysis.

Then again, I guess it's not.

UPDATE: Jim Hoft over at Gateway Pundit checks in on this story as well calling Ellie Light a 'sock puppet', quite fitting. Something quite fascinating as well is that I just received a comment from a troll re: this post and Ellie Light, the troll claimed that 'she' was Ellie Light and that I was guilty of massive defamation and fraud. Oh the horror! Here is the comment from my dashboard in Blogger:

I am ellie light and I work for no one. I find your assumptions to be insulting, as if no one could write to defend Obama unless employed by an organization. It is so easy for you bloggers to sit around in your pajamas and cast aspersion on everyone else. It's so easy to be snide, stand aside, act like you alone have the "pure" lefty agenda at heart, and denegrade everyone else's efforts. I remember people like you sitting along the gym fence in high school, spitting on the sidewalks, staring at girls and making snide remarks. Get out of your bedroom and go do something, instead of insulting others. Or is that beneath your "leftier-than-thou" image. yes, I think it surely is.

Ok readers, here's what I am going to do. I am going to Google this verbiage precisely. Any bets on this showing up elsewhere in the net? Now get this. I think that I may have been wrong. Perhaps this is not a Plouffe troll as this person thinks the Left Coast Rebel is a PJ-wearing leftier-than-thou type. Hmm, she (he, whatever), obviously didn't take the time to read my site at all. Of course it all could be a diversion sent to scatter bloggers like me. Who knows?

UPDATEII: Just a little clarification, I just received this in the comments here, an editor from the Plain Dealer

Just to clear up one point: Sabrina Eaton is a reporter for The Plain Dealer, very much a print paper. Cleveland.com is a site that hosts our content.

Thanks for the link,

I did answer Ms. Eaton's questions about addresses and the letter's authenticity. She identified herself as a journalist who covers Washington. There was lots to write about this week, for example Teddy Kennedy' seat falling to a Republican, or the Supreme Court's ruling allowing corporations to donate unlimited funds to causes they support. Both those events portend unimaginable consequences for democracy in this country. And Ms. Eaton, a "Washington" journalist, decides to spend a few minutes pasting snippets of letters into Google and come up with a story about a letter writer. I'm sure such domesticity and small-mindedness would make Sarah Palin quite proud."

I was just reading this story, too. Politico was duped too.

There is NO WAY that letter happened to get picked up by all those papers without someone's influence. I don't believe it for one second. The only way that would happen was if she mailed like 5000 letters or something. No way, not buying it.

  3. @ Sara - I know! Do they think we are this stupid? Can you believe that some troll was sent here saying what he/she did too?

  5. How hard is it to come up with a few fake names?

The trolls are as stupid as they are annoying.

  6. I'll bet that Ellie Light also votes from those addresses.

  7. Check out my latest. I think it's easy to tell who Ellie Light is just by noticing the play on words in her name.

  8. @ JK - Thank you for that, I amended the post.

@ RK - Indeed, note the name as well, Ellie is Greek for 'light'.

@ Allen - Why do I think you are right?

@ BB - Yes, it's redundant, Light, Light. James at Reaganite thinks team O is behind this and that this is just the tip of the iceberg.
