Americans are Too Dumb to Understand Obama and the Genius of 'Stimulus' - Joe Klein, Time Magazine

by the Left Coast Rebel

MSNBC, I mean Time Magazine has always been a cesspool, state-parroting leftist rag that pushes the boundaries of Democrat statist talking points. Not until today, however, did I realize just how ridiculous Time really is through the mouth of Joe Klein. This is beyond parody! I'll just summarize his points for you. Americans are too stupid, dumb and Fox News misinformed to understand the genius of stimulus. Listen to this elitism:

1. The Obama Administration has done a terrible job explaining the stimulus package to the American people...especially since there have been very few documented cases of waste so far.

2. This is yet further evidence that Americans are flagrantly ill-informed...and, for those watching Fox News, misinformed.

It is very difficult to have a democracy without citizens. It is impossible to be a citizen if you don't make an effort to understand the most basic activities of your government. It is very difficult to thrive in an increasingly competitive world if you're a nation of dodos.

A nation of dodos. Dodos that understand and comprehend that 'stimulus' was an excuse for pork barrel goodies to Dem constituents, printed dollars that we don't have, bankrupting future generations. Clifton at ABC sums it up:

The problem with Joe Klein and arrogant lefties like him is that they refuse to admit that their policies suck eggs. Instead they will blame each other, the electorate or anything else under the sun. It is this “sit back and shut up, because I know best" attitude that is really feeding a lot of the anger out there. Thankfully, idiots like Klein keep stoking the fire, keeping us dumb unwashed masses fired up to eradicate these elitists know nothings once and for all.

Oh and another thing, this one-sided cheerleading by the mainstream media that helped to hoodwink the nation into voting for an empty suit, is a sin that will have to be address sooner rather than later.

  1. So it's not at all possible that we do understand the stimulus and come to a different conclusion than the great one. That may because we're actually paying attention to what history has shown while the elitists are basing it on their own self-adoration.

I'm so sick of being called stupid or misinformed simply because I reach a different conclusion that the annointed one. I'm no genius, but my IQ is nothing to sneeze at either.

    SAME HERE.

    And concerning "bankrupting future generations":
my generation and at LEAST the two after mine (some have said nine) are considered "lost," meaning that any taxes we pay will go straight to paying debt, meaning no growth. I'm thrilled.

  3. LCR - I linked to you over at RN USA on this. Great commentary.

  4. Well, he's right on his conclusion, even though his path to get there is somewhat... misleading. America suffers greatly because of a lack of informed citizens, and henceforth voters. If Americans were well informed and rational, there's just no way someone like Obama would ever win a local election, much less the presidency; there's just way too much historical evidence that socialism doesn't work as a government type which can support the ideals that the people want.

Surprisingly, though, he's right on another point: the "stimulus" has also been woefully mis-represented by Congress and the Obama administration. If he really wanted to help inform the American people, though, how about a call to rename the "stimulus" (which is clearly doesn't) plan to the "gigantic corrupt payouts to our supporters and co-conspirators at the expense of everyone's savings and the long-term stability of our currency" plan? If you're really about honesty with respect to our government's actions, start with the obvious things, imho.

  5. @ Spinster - This just plays into why Time is kittly litter pan liner

    @ Fuzzy - Yup.

@ Obama - I'm right there with you since I'm in my early 30s, imagine that our gen. elected the guy that put us on the brink. Nice to see you again, BTW.

@ Rational - Thank you, I'll go check that out.

@ Red - Thanks to you too!

@ Nick - Hey, long time no see. I agree essentially with what you are saying here. You will see that Klein's argument is that the American public is stupid because we are not buying the govt. line.
