How's that for a title that takes the cake? How's that for one that outdoes any of the insane stuff that we see daily? Name one that beats it. Coming to us from Fox News, scroll down for my take, it might be a little different than you expect:
Navy SEALs have secretly captured one of the most wanted terrorists in Iraq — the alleged mastermind of the murder and mutilation of four Blackwater USA security guards in Fallujah in 2004. And three of the SEALs who captured him are now facing criminal charges, sources told
FoxNews.com.
The three, all members of the Navy's elite commando unit, have refused non-judicial punishment — called an admiral's mast — and have requested a trial by court-martial.
Ahmed Hashim Abed, whom the military code-named "Objective Amber," told investigators he was punched by his captors — and he had the bloody lip to prove it.Now, instead of being lauded for bringing to justice a high-value target, three of the SEAL commandos, all enlisted, face assault charges and have retained lawyers
Of bloody lips and American lives at risk due to political engineering-correctness in wartime. For anyone that doesn't know as well, the
Obamanation approved some 30,000 + additional troops to enter the
theatre in Afghanistan. Bring them home. Now.
I am not a war nor military expert. I'll be totally honest with you on that point. What I am however is an
acute observer of history and the human condition. I'm painfully aware of the fact that our leaders today seem to be repeating the same mistakes of history.
Of engaging and prolonging wars that we do not intend to win. You know that is the truth here.
Over the weekend I watched a segment of Anderson Cooper's CNN program. Although I despise the show typically, the segment that was highlighted involved the 'Canal Murders' that took place in Iraq.
A paraphrased, slim-downed interpretation that I gathered from the story was that
American troops were put under enemy fire on the streets of Iraq cities replete with 'insurgent' fighters. When fired upon said troops would have to take police-style evidence gathering to an extreme to take them off the streets. The burden of proof was then put on our guys to do local evidence gathering and policing. Oftentimes our troops then would face the same local 'insurgents' shooting at them and risking their lives, over and over. Many times after being incarcerated in a US facility and then released. A few US troops snapped and voila, the
Canal murders.
The basic point being that military hierarchy took the P.C. route and sided with the enemy and put our troop's lives at risk.
We don't have the will to succeed and with
Obamanation at the helm, I would rather see our guys come home. The alternative is much, much worse. This Navy Seals outrage just proves that over and over again.
Truly pathetic, they deserve so much better.
