Copenhagen: Obama - No; Clinton Yes - $100 Billion

by the Left Coast Rebel

The so-called climate-change talks at Copenhagen are falling apart faster than Harry Reid can say Boo! It reminds me, (in a good way), of the health care fiasco at the moment. Reid saying this, pissing this nut-group off, socialist Sanders saying this, Nelson saying that, SEIU declaring an emergency, Gibbs calling Dean 'irrational', yes....i'ts a beautiful thing.

Here we have Africa saying this, Europe saying that, 'rich' nations saying this, 'poor' nations wanting redistribution for that. All along though, they can agree on one thing. Hugo Chavez is Da-Man.

And in the middle of it all we have Hillary Clinton and a $100 billion pledge:

Just as the Copenhagen climate summit appeared to be on the verge of unraveling, the United States Thursday announced its support of an annual $100 billion climate protection fund, the Associated Press reports.

“The US is prepared to work with other countries toward a goal of jointly mobilizing $100 billion a year by 2020 to address the climate change needs of developing countries,” Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said.

Clinton revealed that the U.S. would not be decreasing emissions by 2020 beyond the 4 percent it committed to in 1990.....While she would not disclose how much the U.S. would be contribution to the climate fund, Clinton said there would be a fair amount contributed to the pot that would be made available in 2020. The finances will reportedly be raised partially by taxing aviation and shipping...

And as the world turns and the globe burns.....

I find the UN accusing Chavez of human rights violations laughable.

Mighty white of Hildawg to offer up US aid to other countries when we haven't even paid our own debt back to our people.

Maybe the wicked "witch of the left" plans to hock her broomstick.

Many of your posts rightly say that reducing greenhouse gas emissions will be incredibly difficult. Then you seem to laugh at people who working hard at reducing emissions, as if no one knew it would be hard.

@ Blue - I find it disgusting.

@ Steve - HAHA.

@ CJ - Gotcha, what I am actually making fun of here is the communist/statist left, not reasonable folks. I'm laughing at people that can cheer on Hugo Chavez and worse. Sometimes gridlock is the best thing to ever happen.
