I'm doing everyone here a big favor right now, I'm calling it, it's a done deal - it's over. Reid has his 60 votes to usher in debate on dismantling 1/5 of the economy and fashioning HC in the socialist model. Senator Blanche Lincoln just caved and is a 'yes' for tonight's vote. I wonder how the strong-arm tactics worked on her? Another 100 million to clean up the Ozarks? Petty change for Hope and Change, right? Remember Arkansas, you sent this woman to congress to represent YOU. Remember that in 2010. Politico has all of the details, now you can have a peaceful evening away from CSpan:
Lincoln (D-Ark.) announced Saturday that she’d deliver the deciding vote to push forward with a sweeping health reform plan, ending days of speculation over whether President Barack Obama’s signature priority would proceed to the Senate floor or suffer a debilitating blow.We have a lot of work ahead of us. Remember folks, we stopped the gawd-awful 2007 Bush-Kennedy Amnesty bill and that had a full 60 senate vote margin as well.
The final vote is scheduled for 8 p.m., but with Lincoln’s announcement in hand, Reid has the 60 votes he needs to begin debate on the bill after Thanksgiving and break any Republican attempt to hold up debate. Republicans said they wouldn’t give up the fight.
Even if Reid can work out a compromise with moderates on the public option, he still face a difficult fight ahead with the House, which includes a more liberal version of a public option and a millionaires tax to pay for it. The two chambers would have reconcile their bills, and Obama is trying to hold them to a strict year-end deadline to complete work.
Now remember and don't forget, they may be living it up right now but This is the Democrat party in 2010, right up to; and directly after, the massive socialist tent-collpase:

Great point about the '07 Amnesty Bill. Hopefully all Republicans will be out during the Thanksgiving break tearing this Healthcare Bill apart!
ReplyDeleteI predict a Democrat electoral bloodbath in 2010. For sure, Blanche Lincoln will be a goner, as will Reid & Dudd. Hopefully the house will also see a Demoncrat bloodletting as well

ReplyDeleteLets hope for the best. But I think you are right LCR. It is likely over. What really remains to be seen is how bad the final damage.
And yes 2010 may be a Democratic bloodbath. But when once enacted has an entitlement ever been pulled back?
I fear the worst.
