How's that for a title that takes the cake? How's that for one that outdoes any of the insane stuff that we see daily? Name one that beats it. Coming to us from Fox News, scroll down for my take, it might be a little different than you expect:
Navy SEALs have secretly captured one of the most wanted terrorists in Iraq — the alleged mastermind of the murder and mutilation of four Blackwater USA security guards in Fallujah in 2004. And three of the SEALs who captured him are now facing criminal charges, sources told
FoxNews.com.The three, all members of the Navy's elite commando unit, have refused non-judicial punishment — called an admiral's mast — and have requested a trial by court-martial.
Ahmed Hashim Abed, whom the military code-named "Objective Amber," told investigators he was punched by his captors — and he had the bloody lip to prove it.Now, instead of being lauded for bringing to justice a high-value target, three of the SEAL commandos, all enlisted, face assault charges and have retained lawyersOf bloody lips and American lives at risk due to political engineering-correctness in wartime. For anyone that doesn't know as well, the Obamanation approved some 30,000 + additional troops to enter the theatre in Afghanistan. Bring them home. Now.
I am not a war nor military expert. I'll be totally honest with you on that point. What I am however is an acute observer of history and the human condition. I'm painfully aware of the fact that our leaders today seem to be repeating the same mistakes of history. Of engaging and prolonging wars that we do not intend to win. You know that is the truth here.
Over the weekend I watched a segment of Anderson Cooper's CNN program. Although I despise the show typically, the segment that was highlighted involved the 'Canal Murders' that took place in Iraq.
A paraphrased, slim-downed interpretation that I gathered from the story was that American troops were put under enemy fire on the streets of Iraq cities replete with 'insurgent' fighters. When fired upon said troops would have to take police-style evidence gathering to an extreme to take them off the streets. The burden of proof was then put on our guys to do local evidence gathering and policing. Oftentimes our troops then would face the same local 'insurgents' shooting at them and risking their lives, over and over. Many times after being incarcerated in a US facility and then released. A few US troops snapped and voila, the Canal murders.
The basic point being that military hierarchy took the P.C. route and sided with the enemy and put our troop's lives at risk.
We don't have the will to succeed and with Obamanation at the helm, I would rather see our guys come home. The alternative is much, much worse. This Navy Seals outrage just proves that over and over again.
Truly pathetic, they deserve so much better.

Precious "One" Botus couldn't make it through half a day of "Hell Week" He sickens me as CINC. Pussy!
Your title certainly caught my eye. what is wrong with those running this country? This is war folks!
I was so disturbed by this I had to shut my office door and literally weep for these men. All of us who love America and wish to see justice done stand slack-jawed at justice reversed. I was moved by a quote from a recent column by Ann Coulter which read:
“Here in modern America, the guilty are sanctified, while the innocent never stop paying -- including with their lives, as they did at Fort Hood just days ago. Points are awarded to aspiring victims for angry self-righteousness, acts of violence and general unpleasantness. But liberals celebrate diversity only in the case of superficial characteristics like race, gender, sexual preference and country of origin. They reject diversity when we need it, such as in 'diversity' of legal forums. Obama has decided if a standard civilian trial is good enough for Martha Stewart, then it's good enough for the mastermind of the 9/11 attacks. So Khalid Sheikh Mohammed is coming to New York, but Mohammed's military tribunal was already under way when Obama came into office. The Obama administration stopped the proceedings and, eight months later, announced Mohammed would be tried in a federal court in New York. In a liberal's reckoning, diversity is good when we have both Muslim jihadists and patriotic Americans serving in the U.S. military. But diversity is bad when Martha Stewart and Khalid Sheikh Mohammed are subjected to different legal tribunals to adjudicate their transgressions.”
It pains me so to see the politics of justice perverting our system. The left is being exposed but the damage is extensive and difficult to swallow or root out. A bloody lip could scar these exceptional young soldiers’ records for life. I believe a jury of their peers would exonerate them but at what cost? The left have no law and no honor and no place any longer in American justice today.
At some point, those guns may end up pointed a politicians.
Yes, war in the 21st century!
When we liberated Kuwait we sent in how many troops? Then we dramatically downsized the number of troops we sent to liberate a tremendously larger land mass known as Iraq.
Then we have Afghanistan, a landlocked landmass with limited access because it is surrounded by Iran, Russia, and Pakistan....
Always secure your beachhead first...which would have been either Iran or Pakistan...
But no, we rely on something called a coalition which we ended up having to buy!
But we were pissed after 9/11 and wanted to strike out at somebody then some of us had a longstanding grudge against Saddam....and off we go!
Yes, history repeats its self over and over...but politics makes everything NEW every four years!
Oh, and of course we can just label somebody a 'socialist' or claim that they 'hate their country' and then we can just continue to repeat the same mistakes because thats politics!
I am even more unknowledgeable about this story, but it follows the theme of the military making stupid mistakes blamed on PC. I don’t know what PC means exactly, but it’s hard (but not impossible when it comes to a gov’t org) to believe that the military is making such stupid mistakes. You’re saying the military is prosecuting its soldiers for minor mistreatment of a suspect without strong evidence of a level of abuse that would risk further alienating the Iraqi people. Then you’re saying the military is releasing Iraqi suspects who they actually do have strong evidence against for political reasons.
Your suggestion is that the Obama administration set up some of the policies that cause the military to make these mistakes. You know this whole scenario is almost certainly untrue.
When I first heard this story it proved to me what I have suspected for months. This country is operating under a sad deficit of logic and reason. Instead of traits to be valued, logic and reason are now widely despised.
My thanks and prayers are with those SEALS and I agree, if we aren't going to fight to win then why are we there at all.
We as a nation need to do something for these Navy Seals. I feel helpless. Can we write, protest, threaten ... WHAT!?
I hope the CIA goes after Obuma-Pelosi-Reid and serves their heads on a platter for all the world to see one day!
There really does appear to be no limit to the stupidity of the left-wing. Whenever I think that the bottom of the well has been hit once again, nope, additional and deeper reserves appear.
They are stupiding us all into danger.
@ CJ - It is actually completely true. Look up my source, Anderson Cooper and the Canal series. Read the report on these seals. It's true.
@ Nickie - As they would deserve it.
@ C-Gen - I know, it is total madness.
@ Eman - I totally agree, thanks for the words here.
@ TAO - I don't even know what you mean. Withdrawal? Escalation????
@ Libertarian Adv - Ugh, I know what you mean.
@ Spinster - This story is certainly one of the worst examples of that.
@ Sparky - We do need to do something about this, pehaps some sort of charity could be set up? I'll look into whether there is one.
@ Track - Indeed, this is the dystopian future written about decades ago.
This is one of the worst stories I've come across for along time. It saddens me to no end. And yet liberals still deny...sad.
No excuses for this. Keep them in our thoughts and prayers. WE should all be thankful for our wonderful troops.
BFD- let them boys do their job for Chrissake.
It's just like when you don't let the cops have a little leeway... the enemy knows the authority figure is restrained and he exploits it.
Cops or soldiers then get sick of fighting with their hands tied -like in 'Nam- and morale plummets. Plus if the enemy doesn't fear them... they have to fight all the more battles in the long-run.
This is the kind of proven, common-sense management practices that elude the Dear Leader... because his resume doesn't qualify him to run a muffler shop.
This story is infuriating. What would have happened to this man if he were an American captured by anti-American radical militants?
I agree with you LCR that if this administration won't support our troops, we need to bring them home. They're putting their lives on the line so leftists can wring their hands about a perceived miscarriage of justice.
There are probably plenty of people who'd want to give him more than just a busted lip. I don't believe the soldier who did this necessarily took the best course of action, but there are much more pressing issues at hand.
Libertarians have been at odds of whether we should even be fighting overseas wars in the first place.
Our country is the strength of our people over our gov. structure - people will save our economy and our wars the gov will not.
I like what you are sharing here keep it up.
Regards,
Tom Bailey
@ Tom Bailey - I am clearly sympathetic to that sentiment. I believe in a strong defense and I believe that unfettered conflicts with bad management and no clear goal will bankrupt us and kill our guys faster than you can say Boo!
@ Reaganite - This kind of stuff makes me want to see our guys out of there. I have no faith in the hierarchy, all the way to the top.
@ Lyzar - Exactly! Thanks for the thoughts.
@ Being Right - I agree and they should have our utmost thanks tomorrow too.
