I haven't written on the 'global warming email' story. As I'm sure that you know by now a top global warming institution's database was hacked and tons of data was released that allegedly show the Universtiy of East Anglia Climate Research Unit to have engaged in massive wholesale fraud. I didn't delve deeply into the topic nor the emails as I was too busy with Obamacare stuff. Unlike some in the blogosphere, I frankly wasn't salivating to discuss either. Much of the global warming stuff frankly just makes my eyes glaze over. I'm no scientist, that's for sure. But I am politically a skeptic of the notion. I think that it is a ruse of the far-left to gain absolute control. I'll leave it at that.
I've come around to talking about this via a Viscount Monckton Pajamas Media exclusive released today on the topic. He's convinced, to say the least that the email hack incident proves his many assertions over the years as a preeminent global warming skeptic. Here are some excerpts of what Monckton has to say:
This is what they did — these climate “scientists” on whose unsupported word the world’s classe politique proposes to set up an unelected global government this December in Copenhagen, with vast and unprecedented powers to control all formerly free markets, to tax wealthy nations and all of their financial transactions, to regulate the economic and environmental affairs of all nations, and to confiscate and extinguish all patent and intellectual property rights.
Worse, these arrogant fraudsters — for fraudsters are what we now know them to be — have refused, for years and years and years, to reveal their data and their computer program listings. Now we know why: As a revealing 15,000-line document from the computer division at the Climate Research Unit shows, the programs and data are a hopeless, tangled mess.
Finally, these huckstering snake-oil salesmen and “global warming” profiteers — for that is what they are — have written to each other encouraging the destruction of data that had been lawfully requested under the Freedom of Information Act in the UK by scientists who wanted to check whether their global temperature record had
been properly compiled. And that procurement of data destruction.....
