Hacked Global Warming Email Thoughts

One of my favorite blogs that I read daily is Legal Insurrection. In addition to other reasons , I like that Professor Jacobson is an extremely well reasoned fellow and one to weigh common sense and logic ahead of the political-story chasing that many bloggers do, (and I have as well).

That's why I find it interesting and worthy of note that he thinks now, (after watching the story develop), that the hacked global warming email story is quite legit. He lists and I agree, that now that more details have come out, even devout global warming theorizers and apologists/believers are acknowledging the damaging nature of the hacked global warming emails.

He also points to the deafening silence of the press on the entire issue. Recall that the NYTs refused to even cover the story. Usually something damaging to a pet cause is amiss if the press is silent. On queue and in the opposite direction, recall the recent treatment of Palin, thereby proving that she may be a formidable candidate.

  1. Oddly, it seems (according to my latest surf on the wild side) there are yet many apologists working to diminish the relevance of this latest discovery of "propaganda".

    I have not yet been able to "see" the Hadley files with my own eyes. I tried to download a zip file but was unsuccessful.

    I can only say that from the negative reactions and recoil of the 'Holy Man Made Global Rollers' I have seen...this must be some seriously damning evidence!

    I was fortunate to see some snips on BBCW's blog....and if there is more than that...wow! The hysteria mongers are going to have a hard sell.

    This scandal will be nuclear in the sense of the scope and the fall-out...

    It's not just a cluster of Academics in trouble. It will be Government programs in trouble, planned and existing; Grade school curricula, university students suing for course refunds; Taxpayers angered, and more:

    It undermines the entire Left given their lust for global control based upon the "settled science" of Anthropogenic Global Warming...

    ... and NO, they won't be able to shift the goal-posts to "biospheric threats" and "species extinctions" blah blah blah. The entire agenda of the Left is at stake here.

  3. Did you read on Little Green footballs (I don't read it, my friend sent me the link) that Charles is putting this down as a "nontroversy"? Hack.
    It's all well and good when it's Palin's private emails but when it's the scientific conspiracy community it's hands off.

    What was that? Did somebody say "double-standard"?

  4. This is one of the Left's sacraments (like murdering unborn children). It's a sacred cow. You'll probably NEVER hear them backtrack. It's a religion. Sad, isn't it?!

    I am enthralled with one aspect of this: apparently in the unbundled missives there was some software and data that was less than flawless. It seems that the software, written in Fortran, had its source code disgorged and subjected to world-wide scrutiny, a code walk-through, internet style.

    Needless to say, problems were found; things like ignored error conditions and improperly specified data ~ unsigned integer versus signed integer, or something like that. As they say in my biz: garbage in garbage out.

    Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of stiffs.

  7. The failure of the mainstream media to give this story any coverage is deplorable. I would love to file a class action law suit against the media for reckless endgangerment. Most of them stopped being news organizations decades ago.
