This one coming from Politico, Lone Star Governor Rick Perry speaking to a GOP Women's group:
“......this is an administration hell-bent toward taking American towards a socialist country. And we all don’t need to be afraid to say that because that’s what it is.”
“If you all think those tea parties didn’t work, then let me tell you something, when they all came home in August for those town hall meetings, they got an earful. Then they went back to Washington, D.C. and the Senate voted that public option down in committee with a majority of Democrats in the Senate."
The Texas governor said he sees the action as “punishing this state” and urged the assembled Republicans to “stand up” to Washington.
“I say it’s time to make tea parties twice as big as what they were.I think it’s time for us to stand up and say to Washington, D.C. that we are no longer going to accept that kind of stuff sitting down and being quiet.”
Fighting words from Texas. Not a man to mix words, a spade a spade. Rick Perry for President?

Perry hasn't been afraid to use the power of the State to enforce things such as requiring vaccinations. Granted, he makes more noises like a libertarian these days - and he's drafting the Tea Party movement, not leading it. Think of it as "evolution."
On the other hand, he may make a decent Prez?

I see we picked the same story to run today. Great minds think alike. I love Texas!
I am down in Texas, and there is NO way I am voting for Kay Bailey Hutchinson, just take a look at her voting record, she is NO conservative.
LCR -- Slick Rick Is the better of the old guard evils, but I'll vote me conscience this go and go with Debra Medina, a true conservative.
I have a great story for you -- http://www.syracuse.com/news/index.ssf/2009/11/its_not_over_recanvassing_shows_ny23_race.html?loc=interstitialskip -- Not so fast Pelosi: Hoffman may actually have WON NY 23!
@ Ran - I'm not a Perry expert and don't like the vaccination fact that you mention here....I sure like what he has been sayting though.
@ Fuzzy - I like it!
@ Opus - Yes they do, let's start a caravan to the Lone Star state.
@ Kjockey - Precisely, how has Texas put her in office repeatedly? I don't get it.
@ Sharky - Is Medina coming up in the primaries? Is that in 2010? That is a hell of a story you have there too, I'm going to post on that!
