Glenn Beck, Time to be Heard: Black Conservatives, Crooks and Liars Retort

by the Left Coast Rebel

I wasn't able to actually catch the show live, recall that I touted the appearance of Clifton, and friends in their Friday the 13th Beck special. As Stogie at Saberpoint notes, Beck was in a lot of pain during the show's taping and thus didn't go the usual format that he does for a show like this; ie. dividing the audience in half then walking and talking amongst them. It seemed to turn out well regardless, Clifton is middle, rear with the grey sport coat and white shirt. I'm listing it here in segments:

Part 1:

Part 2:

Part 3:

Amazingly, and as inspiring and refreshing as these segments may be; the nutroots, (one in particular, a Crook and a Liar) are calling on Glenn Beck and the show as a 'dumb white guy asking questions'. The general pretense is on full display; that a conservative talk show host cannot possibly speak to a black audience from any point of validity, (to conservative blacks especially).

Beck is well....a raaaaacist simply because he is a conservative. How utterly predictable. Nothing we haven't heard a million times before. An 'F' for effort and an 'F' for originality.

And with that connotation of course comes all of the typical, usual diatribes and stipulations of Beck via the left - baseless accusations as motif for overt racism that only one other in American effectively uses today - Sarah Palin. Yes, Sarah Palin is a racist too, didn't you know? She references 'real Americans' as does Beck and for those that didn't know, that necessarily excludes blacks.

Also, Beck is to be chastised according to a Crook and a Liar for quoting Martin Luther King, (because he is not black) and he paints over the entire segregation/civil rights era foot dragging and obfuscation of the Democrat side in history. It's all the Republicans fault. Right Lincoln? Right? But these specifics matter not, as do elaboration of. Simply put; Crooks and Liars doesn't care for the Beck special and for black American conservatives because they do not fit the typical liberal modus operandi.

And as my black conservative friends will tell you, there is none more racist and demeaning than a do-gooder know-it-all racist-liberal that pretends to be the precise opposite.

For any doubt of this mentality on the left towards black conservatives, how about I bring you a few comments from the Crooks and Liars post. Now remember, oftentimes the comment section of a post represent the true, unhinged, uncensored response from both the author and his loyal readership. Read on, my contribution in dark red:

Embittered Angr...

Q U E S T I O N:

DOES GLEN BECK ASK THIS AUDIENCE HOW THEY THINK MICHAEL STEELE IS GROWING THE NUMBERS OF MINORITIES ELECTED FOR FEDERAL OFFICE IN THE G(no)P?

[Quit posting in ALL CAPS-Sitemonitor] (how about that dear reader, a sitemonitor going after ALL CAPS, are you encouraged for decorum)?

I'll bet some of King Zombie Beck's BFFs are Negroes, (hmm, not sure that is less incendiary than ALL CAPS).

Beck prefers to call them "niggras". (that's respectful, thank you sitemonitor for letting that one stand, ALL CAPS, no!)

pinkobait :

....I don't understand, like how any Black person could belong to the same party as Rush Limbaugh or the same party that scapegoats ACORN and other organizations devoted to raising folks up. ( pinkobait?)

Tyler Durden :

That is how the Southern Plantation culture prevailed: Most people in the south were dirt poor, wether they were white or black. There were very very few very very rich white people. However, the institutionalized racism allowed for the pitting of the poor black people vs. the poor white people. And thus making sure that any upheaval based on the sheer economic inequalities would be savotaged by the division among the people at the bottom.

That being said, given the history of this country... these black conservatives should be double shamed of themselves. But I assume, that just like their white counterparts, these assholes don't know or posses any sort of shame. (and I thought that I had it bad being a conservative in CA)

For anyone wondering, here is the comment policy at Crooks and Liars, I particulary like this part:

Comments that are abusive, offensive, contain racist or extremely profane material or violate the terms of service for this blog's host provider will be removed and the author(s) banned from future comments. It is far easier for us to ban an offending commenter than to get reinstated by the software censors.

A great comment policy. That is unless, of course; we are talking about black conservatives, at that point.....

  2. Ugh. I just read about this at Clifton's, too.

Isn't it bizarre that they can't see who's the real racist? Can't quote Martin Luther King? Are you kidding me? He as an amazing American leader, and to think that no one can quote him unless they are black (and presumably liberal?) is . . . well, gee, isn't that sort of like "separate but equal"? How on earth do they imagine we can be a free and equal society if they insist on divisions like this? It's just bizarre, the logic is so . . . twisted? . . . no, absent.

And ACORN tries to lift people up? Who are they kidding? The ACORN leaders are getting richer and richer, how're things going in the inner cities? I love how all the so-called advocates for racial equality are millionaires who made their money essentially working to keep racial divisions alive and well so they can continue to profit. Can't they see that the opposite is happening, people are being held down for personal and political gain, and to top off the insult and injury, they are claiming to do it FOR the very people they exploit. It's sick making. The *last* thing they want is to lift people up, doing that would put them out of business.

  3. Those on the left are way more racist than the conservatives I see on the internet.

They can't stand to honor the choice of any person, especially if their skin color is not white, to be conservative. It doesn't fit their narrative. So inconvenient for them.

  6. LCR, you analyze these asshats well. Yes, black conservatives are very threatening to the Left and its world view, so they must find a way to discredit Beck's show.

The reflexive non-thought apparent in the Crooks and Liars reader comments should not be lost on anyone. All they can do is recite slogans and fall back on stereotypes to prove that the only legitimate black is one who accepts socialism, statism and the inerrant wisdom of the political left.

  7. I offered two beliefs and two choices on my site, www.claysamerica.com, and I wonder which your readers would choose as most important? One was Obama's promise and that was compared to the conservative rejection of it, with explanations of both.

  8. @ Chuck - Precisely!

@ Fuzzy - You are so right, basically this post proves what we all know about race and liberalism..

@ opus - Isn't that right? I think this article and the comments are the best example of that I have seen, bar none.

@ Womanhonor - Thank you, their voices do need to be heard!

@ Stogie - Exactly, and the fact that comments that contained words like 'negroe', 'niggra', etc were left up, right next to ones that had been deleted by the admin tells the whole story.

  9. I caught the Glen Beck show and found it to be a powerful format. The town hall meetings that the elite had attempted to shut down or fill will shills(SEIU thugs)only intensified the publics wishes to be heard. When Beck put this town hall-like program on it drove those who want to stifle dissent and free speech of opposition opinions nuts (thus the netroot blogosphere examples you cite).

As long as the socialist attempt to ignore and actively subborn opposition to their reckless behavior in government the louder and more effective we get and Glen Beck is our defacto leader. I thank God he is on Fox where he has a chance to survive and more importantly, thrive.

  10. To get a better understanding about race as viewed by the left I highly recommend Howard Bryant's "Shut Out".

While the book is primarily about the racism within the Red Sox organization for most of the previous century, Bryant also shows the underlying racism in the Boston and how blacks accepted it because they had bought into the myth that their treatment was better than blacks in other parts of the country and it wasn't until the 1970's that they realized they were being sold a bill of goods and were really being held back.

The parallel is that the Dems tell blacks and other minorities that they are the party for them but instead of helping them to advance they hold them back by providing the means to perpetuate the cycle of poverty instead of the initiative to get out of it.

More people like Charles Payne and others on Beck's Friday show need to be given a voice as opposed to the Jackson's and Sharpton's of the world.
