Election Night November 3 Live blogging

by the Left Coast Rebel

This is the first election that I have live blogged. I'm sitting here in the living room with the clunky old laptop, watching realtime election results on Fox News. I will update this post as I see events that warrant. First off VA:

  • Virginia polls are closed. Results are trickling in. 7% in so far, for the governship, 96,ooo going to 'R' McDonnell, 46,000 to 'D' Deeds. Obviously these numbers will tighten up, it looks to me like GOP voters are more motivated in early voting.
  • 15% of VA results now in, McDonnell 175,ooo, to Deeds 95,000.
  • New Jersey to close in 15 minutes. CNN is showing that VA voters are focused on the economy.
  • VA results now 25% in, McDonnell 282,ooo to Deeds 155,ooo.
  • 30% results in VA now in 336,ooo to 194,ooo. Exit polling coming in from VA show confirm above.

Republican McDonnell Now Projected Winner in Virginia, A Sweep in all Races

  • Now awaiting NJ, NY. Polls just closed in NJ, exit polls show the race as tight.
  • NJ Governor race first results @ less than 1% in, 'R' Christie 16,000 at 51%, 'D' Corzine, 12,000 40%.
  • NJ race 2% now in, Christie 24,800 at 50%, Corzine 21,000 42%.
  • NJ now 5% in, Christie 65,ooo 55%, Corzine 42,ooo, 42%.
  • NJ now 15% in, Christie 200,ooo, 55%, Corzine 154,ooo, 40%.
  • NJ now 20% in, Christie 224,ooo 52%, Corzine 188,ooo 42%.
  • NJ now 28% in, Christie 319,ooo 50%, Corzine 283,ooo 44%.
  • NJ now 35% in, Christie 423,ooo 52%, Corzine 346,ooo 42%.
  • NY polls just closed. Owens leading Hoffman in preliminary voting count.
  • Ugh, I'm jumping between NY now and NJ. NJ is tightening, 49% to 44%.
  • NY-23 is tightening as well, Owens at 51% to Hoffman 45%, less than 1% in, 600 + votes for each candidate, lol. Go Doug Go!
  • NJ Christie 700,ooo 50%, Corzine 611,ooo, 44% too close to call.
  • NY-23 still less than 1% in, reader TCL just messaged me and said that NY-23 has had ballot issues.
  • NJ, 67% votes in, 50% Christie to 45% Corzine.
  • NY-23 51% Owens 14,000, Hoffman 12,ooo 43%.

Chris Christie Projected Winner, Governor of the State of New Jersey

  • NY-23 is tightening up, Owens 35,000 49% to Hoffman 45% 33,000
  • Still tight, in NY-23, 49% Owens to 45% Hoffman, 46,ooo to 43,ooo
  • Major Garret just commented that the White House and Obama have no comment tonight on the election results. Yet the talking bobbleheads are saying that this referendum doesn't mean anything for the Obamanation agenda.
  • NY-23 still static at 49% to 45%.
  • Ny-23, Hoffman up one point, a real nail-biter 49% to 46%. 49,000 to 45,000. This one could go later into the evening. Too close to call but it doesn't look good for the Hoffster.
  • Gag, Corzine just gave a speech. The virtues of Progressivism. Go home to your Goldman Sachs buddies, buddy.
  • A message on Facebook, my wife's account - Don't forget to fasten your seatbelt on your way home Trentin Corzine!

Hoffman/Owens Race, NY-23 Too Close to Call UPDATE: Owens Confirmed Winner in NY-23

  • What a fight and so close, Hoffman is officially out of the race, Owens the winner. What a night. An 80% victory tonight against the Obamanation agenda. Will conservatives prevail however? We have a lot of work ahead of us.......

Good night all, until tomorrow, the good fight continues on. I tip my hat to Doug Hoffman, thank you sir for the service to conservatism and the effort that you put forth. Gratitude and ample respect to all of those in the grassroots that put forth an amazing effort to help get Doug Hoffman elected.

Damn, it was close in NY-23.

It looks like the night has started off good. Much better than last year.

C'mon NJ... do the right thing. If this race is close, SEIU/Dems/ACORN will find a million votes in the recount.

The anticipation is killing me. I just heard Sean Hannity interview Doug Hoffman. Sounds like some ballot problems are popping up. Not surprising...the corrupt Dems at work again. Hopefully, the final vote will come in tonight...we don't need another Minnesota mess.

I am exhausted, been up since 4. But it was worth it. McDonnell is going to do a great job for Virginia.

Your proxy is all set up by the way.

@ TCL - I know what you mean.

@ Consgirl - I am happy for your state. So excited about someone going to DC in my stay as well.

Fox is calling NY23 for Dem Owens. Too bad.

Hoffman could have won if he hadn't been sabotaged by the GOP at every turn.

I think that if you took out the Acorn votes out of district 23, Hoffman won. The real story isn't the governors races, but all the small city council and state level races where pro liberty candidates won. There has never been another election like that in my lifetime. Uesually dems win all local races, but last night it was just the opposite. That is a fundamental shift in the way Americans have voted for the last 100 years. That was the 912ers and tea party partiots, libertarians and independents at work at the local level which is most important 1. because all politics is local and 2. we have an army of 912ers that will cutting their political teeth in local politics ready to take out moderates and Rinos in 2010.
