Despite the hecticness that pervades my site and mind at times, all in life is not politics, as it were. A beautiful evening, balmy-60s, clear water, picture perfect....not a fish in sight, for me at least.

I'm glad you made this simple post, Tim. Scenes like this makes life pleasurable and worth living. Even though I am surrounded by world class natural beauty where I live in the Pacific Northwest, [no, not hairy legged hippie women hahaha] often are the times I don't see it because there are so many things to fight for, just to get some semblance of normality back in our lives. The key word is balance. If we forget mountains, oceans, and sunsets, what in hell are we fighting for? Well, the obvious answer is liberty, but we need aesthetics in our lives, whether through nature, or the arts. Balance is indeed needed, but we can never go back to complacency. We need to fight for our beauty, and NEVER take it for granted again.
ReplyDelete@ William - Well said. It is easy to become confined and complacent, taking for granted the things that are the most important to us, only to realize that they are gone - when it is too late. Balance is good. To enjoy life and breath, nature and natural beauty is important. Important, of course in the context of fighting, even to the death for what is the most important. Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, a man's right to be free of the shackles of tyranny and repression.
